I wanted Curle but will support McGhee, sounds like he will be keeping North and is allowed to bring in new players.
I am happy with this appointment. We have to remember that we are a struggling league 2 side with a history of getting it wrong and sacking managers. I think we should be pretty chuffed that he applied for the job, and that we got the best out of the two scottish managers in Bristol Full support needed for this guy now by all gasheads.
I wanted Money, but I guess we will have to see how this one works out. I will support him regardless until he either calls us ****s or gets us relegated
He will be aloud to bring in new players so thats good, he should have some good contacts that he contact
bon chance magoo, the very best of luck to you and the gas. let us have the gas storming the league beginning at cheltenham. change of prediction from 1-1 to 1-2 to the gas. a major thank you to shaun north is deserved for helping the gas to get 4 vital points. i am sure his future is best with mcgee rather than more lost causes with buckle
AJ something we can agree on for a change. Sorry but it wouldn't be right unless i told you to F**K off though!!!!
I am begining to look at this appointment as a good move. He does have a pretty good CV i must admit. Said all the right things (but so did Buckle to start with!) and looks the part. Lets hope and pray he is the right man to take us back to league one, so we can leave this god aweful ****e league and ****e sides like Shrewsbury tin pots behind
when buckle got the job i thought it was the wrong move from rovers. we needed experience and i made this point clear as well. however i got behind him and backed him until he made the ultimate mistake and turned on the fans. again with mcghee, not my number 1 choice. however i am much more optimistic than i was under buckle when buckle 1st took over. then i remembered he was manager of brighton who beat city in the play off final so he is already a gas legend lol. cant wait until the summer now where he can rebuild this club. until then he needs to bring the heart and soul back to ther club and his interview http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16611945.stm convinces me he will. he is giving the team until the end of the season to allow them to prove to him they belong at rovers. he demands commitment and passion. this will bring back the heart and soul. if the players respond the right why then i honestly believe this appointment will bring happy days at our club. 14 points from play offs with 60 points left available. who knows if the players respond the right way and what loans he brings in.
sadly sh*te clubs like shrewsbury tinpots are rather busy walking this awful ****e league, and it is doubtful if the gas will catch us tinpots this season. your man's main task is to keep you out of the bsl. perhaps if you walk the league next year you may catch us in the championships in 2025 pip pip!
Good appointment and should have more contacts than Buckle, fingers crossed he can sort you lot out. Would hate to see the gas get relegated, that goes for any club in our region!
anybody fancy us for a re-run of the 2006/07 campaign?? 1 or 2 astute signings could get us on a run, and a last minute, last day away win at D&G to just get us in the play-offs, and with the momentum going for us .... another Wembley win against the tinpots!!???!! Stranger things have happened you know!
Two cautions to make a note of:- 1) McGhee built a reputation for jumping ship mid contract. 2)He has never managed at this level. The history of League 2 is littered with people who failed having stepped down to this level. Peter Reid being the latest example.
