I must be dreaming. I know it’s a somewhat surreal world at the moment but Heed constantly spouting common sense and my agreeing with No Chance I must be dreaming, I must, I must.
I’m not kidding the next thing will be Chippy putting money behind the bar and buying everyone a drink.
There you go. Give Em Enough Rope they say. Heard from the horses mouth now. Guilty or not. Hang em high or just accept DC being from Durham will make him cconfued.
Well that was one of the most inept cross examining of an accused that I’ve seen for quite some time. Why did most of the journalists insist on asking the same or very similar questions as the ones before them? Why did no one ask if his wife can drive? Why did he drive 260 miles with a wife who was displaying symptoms of Covid 19? Why did he drive for half an hour after saying he felt his eyesight was “iffy” and that he didn’t feel well? Just to name three.
That’s the big smack down from Cummings to the scummy media. He chewed them up and spat them out. Oh and called them out as lying over visit number 2 to Fnutgamw hi how clearly now didn’t exist as he’s said there will be cctv proof he wasn’t even in th county. I now demand the resignation of all the rabid mongs who desperately tries to be relevant and get a career boost by hammering him. He was a dad looking out for his young kid ffs. Even that scruffy looking chap peston looked a mess.
Genuine (but loaded) question.... Does that mean those of us who believed Boris and Matt Hancock when they said it was an instruction and not a request, and who followed the instructions even when it meant we didn't get to see our kids and had to leave them in the care of others, were not looking out for our kids?
I'm truly a ****ty father. My wife and I both had Covid at the same time with a 4 year old and a 2 year old and we didn't get child care
Drove from Durham to Barnard Castle, as a test of his eyesight, with a 4 year child in the car. If that was a regular Joe putting their child at risk like that, Social Services would get involved.
dunno. Everyone has to make their own calls I suppose. Personally I’ve been black and white and done everything by the book. And will continue to do so. but if I had my parents down in Yorkshire then I’d consider driving down if I got Covid 19 and though there may be some safeguarding issues. the press have been badly exposed today and it’s good to see. there’s a small pocket of momentum remoaners who are seething right now and that’s a joyous notion for the soul.
There are also a significant number of non labour voters (myself included) who feel like this is a kick in the teeth. I would have loved to have made the journey down to Worcestershire to pick her up but was never given the option. I was specifically told that was against the rules by social services, who were called by either the paramedics or GP (I'm still unclear of which) as soon as they knew her mum was going to be hospitalised. They were taking their lead from the police and from government instructions (their words to me). I am not affiliated to any party and disliked Corbyn possibly more than Boris. There are undoubtedly some people allowing their politics to cloud their judgement in this as they criticise Cummings. I suspect there may also be some who are doing the same in reverse and who would have had plenty to say if Corbyn, Abbott or Kier Starmer had done exactly the same instead of Cummings. We are all hypocrites and I don't particularly care about that. What I care about is being lied to that it was an instruction and not a guideline.
the issue was probably more maybe that the instruction/advice blah blah wasn’t actually that clear. That would lead to confusion being kind but also exploitation not being kind. my big issue is those who interpreted the rules as being you fan still go get pissed with 10 mates in the park like no ****er will notice. That gets me beelin’
That was always an issue. The Government website called them “guidelines “ but they also constantly referred to them as “rules”. But I agree too many deciding on political lines not right and wrong lines. Chippy is also correct (I know another first) in regard to the media’s faux outrage and their hypocrisy. They shout about Cummins not respecting the media when the media as a whole don’t respect anyone themselves. For myself I am undecided as I have not heard the full story. The fact I haven’t heard the full story makes me doubt Cummins but there are so many questions that were unasked I would want those answering first before deciding.
'Beach-goers' cite Dominic Cummings lockdown breaches as reason for packed resort' screams The Telegraph. Nowt to do with the scorching Bank Holiday then and the relaxed attitude for at least the last two weeks then? What an embarrassing load of bollocks that headline is.
