Well he's a lot better than Ebiowei, so we can save ourselves a loan spot & fee and develop one of our own for a change.
I swear you've been going way OTT recently. The lad will be involved next season and after a few years in the lower leagues, a season being in and around the first team will be great for him. He's played 39 times for Oldham so he's not a kid with no experience
He wouldn't get a game for them. Promotion is the be-all and end-all for those sides, they want proven players and won't waste time developing kids for other clubs. He'd be going Shelbourne if anything
What was OTT about what I said? If he's only going to get serious game time with us then as I said, he should stay. But if it's only 5/10mins here and there then I think a 6month loan would be better.... Failing to see what OTT about it ?
Yep, I was surprised to see he'd played that many games already, mainly in L2. Anyone know why they then loaned him out to Radcliffe? On the face of it, seems bizarre. Maybe he wouldn't sign a new contract and was looking for a move away?
He's shown a few promising touches, appears to have a great attitude and has endeared himself to fans, commentators and presumably our management. However let's not go overboard. - Yet. He was pulled last night as it was clear he didn't know how to react to us falling behind. The phrase rabbit in headlights was used and I think that's a true reflection. I hope he features in our next few games, but probably off the bench, late on, to build up experience. Next season he needs to be a regular sub - certainly for the first few months. I don't think a loan is needed. He's proved he's capable at Championship level. I just think he needs easing in and, more importantly, looking after, as he develops.
Because he's starting games with us and looking decent. I don't understand why there should be any talk of him being dropped and then loaned out. It's just nonsense.
Is he starting due to him forcing his way in or is he starting due to injuries and attitude of others? He's done well, but look at the players Boro had in his position last night....would you start him over any of them?
You are right, Greaves and Macca were too far apart when the ball was kicked, so Greaves couldn't cover. McLoughlin then got too close to Archer, and should have backed off slightly earlier, so he could guide him wider and keep himself between Archer and the goal.
Vaughan has promise, but as with most youngsters, he needs to bulk up as he was bullied off the ball a fair bit. Was he our best player last night? I don't think so.
Pelkas is a flash in the pan who likes to hit the deck too often. I don't understand why a few here rate him at all. Too much dead wood to clear out before a top 6 spot can be taken seriously including the kid from Palace who is greatly overrated although he's young and could turn into a decent player in the future.
But we don't have that calibre of attackers and we won't next season either. While our strikers are out, all our wingers and attacking midfielders are available and he's looking good. He's certainly as good as any wide option we have at the club
