http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/4934373/Coisty-closes-in-on-Kenny.html seriously ?
Crazy. They should be building a squad full of young players like Celtic have been doing the past few years. Instead they're signing the likes of Jon Daly (30) and Kenny Miller (33). Oh well, **** 'em.
Coisty is a clueless ****. His idea of team management is "I know, I'll get some **** we've had in before." I was of the opinion that he would do for where we are, but that opinion has changed. Get him tae **** and appoint a young hungry manager that has at least demonstrated some ability. I would want Stuart McCall but I dunno if he'd be keen to take the job yet. He's certainly got the ability to build a stronger and stronger team as we progess up through the divisions.
You've been free to sign players who are under 18 for the last year, right? I'm amazed you haven't been using your resources to pick off the very best youth prospects from clubs outside Celtic, promising them first team football on your way to the SPL (and a wage).
See how Alan Johnstone gets on in SFL1 and if he does well, get McCoist to **** and bring Johnstone in. McCoist is ****ing hopeless and signing Miller is further proof that he's just not got it. Our U16's should be getting a chance, Ryan Hardie and Danny Storey are great prospects, so get them in the 1st team and see if they shape up.
If I recall correctly, there was no 'squad numbers' back then, so if Salenko got number 9 and McCoist 14, then I'd need to assume that this was because McCoist was a substitute.
Just checked Wiki for Salenko information. He had a remarkable scoring record at International level, 0.75 goals per game!!! He only played 8 games for Russia and only scored in 1 game
It's a missed opportunity to start afresh, build strong foundations for the future and enthuse the fans. I was hoping we'd implement modern ideas used by successful clubs on the continent, and bring through a crop of talented, professional youngsters. I was hoping something positive would emerge from all the crap we've been through in recent times. Instead, it looks like we're going to repeat the mistakes of the past. It's as if the management have learned nothing over the last 18 months. I despair.
