I disagree, Taylor was in the team during the ‘good football spell’ under LJ. He always seemed to lack the clinical edge in front of goal, and he was provided with plenty of opportunities from memory. He always made more impact from the bench and pulled players out of position to create gaps for others, but barely ever scored himself, a bit like Semenyo does now
The players you mentioned were special players that made their own chances.....They are or were that good!! Not a striker but, George Best used to score plenty of goals, playing from out wide. Stirling does the same for Man C......
We signed him in January 2017 and we managed 26 goals in the remaining 20 games and only won 8 of those games. The following 2 seasons we scored 67 and 58 goals respectively, 'good football spell' really?
Kane and Vardy need providers and the others I mentioned needed midfield organisers to provide protection for the defence, we ain't got neither.
Best - was an incredibly special player and Stirling are naturally wide players. And yes they score goals, they're special players. You can't compare Wells, who's always been a striker with players who naturally play wide. Holden is barking up the wrong tree if he thinks Wells will make a success of playing out wide.
They still need supply and protection. We ruined Trundle and we are well on the way to ruining Wells.
I liked Taylor - his snake Gif was brilliant - and THAT pass for smith to score vs Man U will live in folklore for a long time.
A good result 3 - 0, I would rather we play Plymouth though. If we should beat Sheffield United, what an opportunity lies before us, any team not in the prem would be good.
