MOM for the Season goes to,,, Andrew Robertson. please log in to view this image Robertson won with 35 points which constituted 3 points more than Dawson and 5 more than Livermore. He only won a single Monthly MOM award but what he did better than anyone else was put up consistent points. Robertson's point total is greater than last years winner. 21 players received MOM points and the order is below. Players fell off or did really well in periods. Consistency from our top players was obviously a major problem for us this season. 30 players received points last year. Far more of our players scored in double digits than did last year. Dawson and Davies started the season strong scoring 14 and 15 points in the first 2 months of the season respectively but then they pretty much just went missing after that rarely picking up very many points in a month. Dawson won last years award and finished 2nd this year. That deserves a mention. Livermore's suspension resulted in him not taking the top spot. Odubajo ended the season really strongly but the beginning was poor with 4 months of 0 points, 3 straight months with 0 points and only 5 points from the first half of the season. If Odubajo had played in the beginning of the season as well as he did in the end he would have ran away with the award. Hernandez was consistent but rarely racked up the top spot in a MOM vote meaning he was always playing catch up taking by taking the 2nd or 3rd spot. Elmo in my opinion gave us the most disappointing MOM performance as he finished 18th out of 21 players who made the list. Final Score List 1. Robertson 2. Dawson 3. Livermore 4. Davies 4. Odubajo 6. Huddlestone 6. Maguire 6. Hernandez 9. Diame 10. McGregor 10. Clucas 12. Snodgrass 13. Hayden 14. Akpom 14. Meyler 16. Aluko 17. Jackopovich 18. Elmo 19. Maloney 20. Lenihan 21. Leur
Good stuff Ellewoods. Thanks for the effort & hours you've put in. Congratulations to Andy Robertson.
Clucas seems way too low for me, I must've been the only bugger voting for him Great work elle as always, and well done Robertson.
An excellent bit of work, thanks Ellewoods. I'm a bit surprised at some of the placings, but you cannot argue with facts!! (Well I'm sure some posters can!)
His point total equals Chesters point total last season and would have been 5th place then. He received 2 Monthly MOM awards which is 1 more than Robertson did. So its obvious why you think he should be higher. What hurt him was he never put up any really large point totals and just like Odubajo he had 4 months were he didnt get any points. I think that he is one of the players that we have that are young and have really promising futures. Clucas is 25 and Robertson and Odubajo are both 22.
Well done Robbo worthy winner, congratulations x Thanks Elle for all the work collecting the votes much appreciated x
He never finished in a top 3. People did vote for him but to get points you have to finish in a top 3 for a game. You get 3 points for 1st place, 2 points for 2nd place and 1 point for 3rd place.
Thanks for doing this elle, it's a big commitment to keep track of this every week, especially with you not getting to see most of our games
Ahem... Don't forget elle's able deputy. I did two motm threads this season and has anyone gave even a nod in my direction? No they ****ing haven't have they. I'm so unappreciated on here, I might just do one and you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Bastards Thank you ellewood, great job.
No surprise that our back four hold 4 of the top 5 places - I suspect most teams that get promoted would have voted for those scoring the goals but this reflects the negative way we've played and the unnecessary pressure on the defence - hopefully we can get a new manager in that puts the emphasis on winning rather than not losing
