Well I'm sure there's plenty of mentions for how loyal the fan base is on the whole, nobody can argue that you guys turn up come rain or shine. I wouldn't use words like 'endured' though, you've had it far better than most clubs in the country if you wanna be part of the top table. If you're happier being in lower divisions, winning more, then perhaps it's been a thoroughly miserable time. Very few team's fans get to enjoy their time in the EPL, even at the top, look at the Arsenal... it's all relative isn't it.
Turn the monitors off, see how many stay seated then. I spend half my life stuck in traffic in this city mate, so I don't feel their pain at all.
I go to quite a few matches and I haven't seen people leaving when we go a couple of goals down. Maybe if the second one goes in with a few minutes left.
Fair points. Another way to see it is that the money you pay, you may be disappointed with what you get from your team, but it means if you're in the EPL you get the chance to see class players doing their stuff
I go to all home games and some of our supporters are a disgrace. Said it many times - would rather our stadium was only 25k capacity and full of the 'proper' supporters.
What confuses me, is that every time you've survived the fans have played a big part, like H to Chelsea for example, last season. Moyes has failed miserably to connect with the club's supporters, so I can see why a lot have become numb to it all now, like Billy wrote on the match day thread, 'couldn't give a ****' about the result. If you want the fans to push you through the storm, you have to give them some hope.
I'm not saying it's right mate, just giving an explanation and for the record I stay behind, have another pint then the traffic is usually gone by then so no worries.
I don't mate, I take my motor and my son drives home or I get the ball and chain to drop me off and pick me up again.
Mr Negative in every aspect mate, pouring cold water on the whole situation from the minute he walked in the door. Been done to death recently like so not going to go into it any further. Sooner he's out the better for me.
I don't FFS, you sound like my wife now like, don't do this, don't do that actually this should be on the 'What gets on your tit's' thread
I know it's all relative, but I remember it all too well mate. For me, he's not the type of bloke you can hate, because there's nothing to hate, but there's no optimism. When he was here, I felt like he was going nowhere, just floating waiting to drown. For outsiders, it was easy for them to say he was shafted and he should have been given time, but I know you and many of your fellow supporters now understand, he's not worth giving time to. It's better to be safe, than to be sorry mate. Think!
That`s my take on it. Terrible depressing attitude from day one. Sending exactly the wrong message. As for Short saying this is the bloke he wanted three managers ago I reckon it`s bullshit. Short spouting off `cos the FA nicked Sam. After the recent shambolic appointments of manager after manager whose failings are patently obvious I`m all for continuity but it has to be the right manager. I`ve no idea who, but it isn`t Moyes.
We do it every week? Didn't do it on Saturday did we. I stayed till the end to. I left at 75min against city because the game was over after when city scored there second. I take offence when people have a pop at our support. Even your fans left early against that Russian team the other night and you lot was winning to.
Thats up yo them tho but i do think more and more people will stop going pal. People has had enough of it.
Aww the pundits has had a go at our support leaving early but they don't say anything about other fans leaving early. What about arsenal fans against bayern. What about West ham against city or palace against us?
