wont be joining, on the clubs website there was a deal in place but he doesn't want to come... Oh well we move on.
Just shared this on Outlaws thread. Couldn't find Tees' M'Vila one. The one that got away I think, he loved playing your club.
Don't think he loved it enough to take up the three and a half year deal that was pre-arranged. Money talks

Any player that we bring to Sunderland Football Club must be wholly committed. Hardly a shock. We should have paid up at the time and when we didn't it seemed very likely that was that. There was lingering hope but not much.
All credit to the club for releasing this info. At least we now know the full situation that we had a deal in place and he chose not to accept which is his choice. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
harsh on the club imo. He obviously did want to join regardless of what happened in the summer (which we really don't know all the facts about) and now he pulled the plug On the deal. I don't see why the club should have paid 8 million for him in the summer when he agreed to join us for free in January.
It would not surprise me in the least if he ended up in China or stays in Russia on a more handsome contract. If he was willing to leave a nice part of France, pass up the chance for a good life style in England then it will tell us all about him the man.
Eh? You talk about not knowing all the facts and then say we had to pay 8 million, for him? How do you know it was this amount? This is reality, though. A lot of things can change in a short space of time. He's back in the first time at Kazan and he's playing well and seemingly enjoying his football. He'll have mates there who he will be bonded with and might not want to leave them. That's life. We should have striked when the iron was hot.
That is the nub of the deal. As no fee between clubs will be involved then he could demand a signing-on fee, which I think we would have been willing to do. Maybe because of our situation he upped this fee, or wages, or maybe included a condition about leaving if we went down. The final analysis is that we are now six months on and he has just changed his mind for whatever reason. Hardly committed to the cause.
