New Balance apparently taking us top court because they matched the offer and have first refusal but were wasn't Nike for the world wide branding
The issue seems to be that new balance can't make enough stock to fulfil the demand. 75m per season from Nike apparently. I think we're worth more tbh
We definitely need to switch from NB to a major player like Nike. They have the global network, a massive PR machine. We need to capitalise on our big stars and continue to build the clubs brand.
It makes sense to get that extra income, don't know what NB have that makes them think they can win this.
Clause in the contract that they get first refusal if they match the price, which they did. It's a big loss for them though, as their biggest football team for kits they provide, I'm sure they dont want to weaken their portfolio
The club are saying that NB cannot match Nikes stock and distribution. It's not case of the money. Summin. Like that
Apparently the black keeper top has been out of stock for 3months in many parts of Europe. The club are arguing these are losses. Can't really argue with that if true.
Doesn't surprise me. I wanted the orange away kit from a couple of seasons ago but couldn't find one anywhere
Liverpool bid to trademark the word 'Liverpool' denied https://www.skysports.com/football/...ol-bid-to-trademark-the-word-liverpool-denied
Well this is the point being made by the club in regards to new balance not offering what Nike can. Which is worldwide distribution. I'm not fussed who makes the kits, Adidas would be my preference but as long as the club is maximising the funds in, then I really don't care who makes the shirts. If new balance can fulfil demand then they need replacing.
100% same I don't own much sportswear apart from trainers and all of them are adidas. Would never wear Nike trainers though, think the last pair I had was in school and bought by my mum
