Kit is woeful and should never be seen. NEVER. home kit is classic inspired. no issues. thats 60/70% of games if we can based on opposition. Away kit is white with "navy" shorts again very few issues. If we play a team in white kit we should wear our home kit. This 3rd kit shoudl NEVER be worn by the team. NEVER.
I really like the 3rd. The 3rd kit is always a bit different, it’s just annoying that doesn’t go all the way up to the neck shoulders. Makes it seem like they’ve just stuck a square on top of a shirt.
I wasn't keen on the last third kit (grey last year) but I've liked all the third kits prior to that. Loved the orange kit from a couple of years ago. This kit is just horrible, pattern that causes blindness!
We don't need 3 kits, no team does. Oddly there is some kind of clause that says it has to be worn at least once hence us wearing it at home on occasion(s). In these days of waste and saving the planet etc. it's time to get back to just 2 kits especially when third kits are usually a bit whacky and surely they're not making any money on sales.
Our first strip is red, second strip is white. When we're away to Southampton and Sheffield United, which one if those would we wear? I like the idea that all teams have to have one white kit and one that doesn't contain white. Think this is from the MLS?
I know that both kits can clash this year but if you only have 2 kits you make it a requirement that they won't clash with anyone by choosing the right colours. NBA have 3 kits with one always white, don't know about MLS.
Just looked. It's can't be a rule in MLS since not all have a white kit but the majority of them do. The kits that have more than one colour aren't two vastly different colours though, means if their first kit clashes, the second won't.
All you Stella McCartneys can argue the toss over collar buttons and pretty side vents but I only care that shirts can be identified quickly on the pitch. It's all about colour psychology. Shanks knew what he was doing when he chose red. It's the most important and identifiable colour on the human spectrum, being the colour of danger and sex. Yellow and orange are also good and are stimulating colours, so standing around in the dressing room is good for the players' and manager's footballing brains. Corporations paint their meeting rooms in those colours. Green is the easiest colour on the eye and more green cars are involved in accidents than any other colour, so anything that comes close is stupid. I'm convinced England went out of the Euros because of those weak dishwater aqua bits on the strip. Always avoid pastels.
you are dead right. I hated our baggy shorts that made our player look like weaklings. Our players should look like athletes in their kits, bright blood red and scary. Bang on. 3rd kit for for fat men to wear with jeans not for football.
2 years ago Southampton played utd in the FA cup. Saints wore 3rd strip which was plain white top, red shorts. Utd wore their usual home kit. Only one I can remember but I'm sure there's been lots like that.
Saints first kit is red & white. I think their second kit is red, third kit white. Not a great setup if correct is it?
