When Assem pissed people off I got the feeling it was because he was completely disconnected to football, the people who follow it and the notion that his authority could be challenged due to so long being in a position of ultimate power in his own life. When Ehab pissed people off I got the impression it was the mailicious intent of a spoilt, rich kid who was happy to be hated if he couldn't be liked.
That advice from Ehab is magical. “Repair what cranky **** & I deliberately & vindictively broke” You’re right, he’s a ****.
He made a really snide comment with a sneer when asked something like what legacy do you leave behind, he said "That's for the fans to decide". ****.
It's some legacy, probably the owners of Hull City the fans have most wanted to see the back of, and that's saying something given the likes of Bartlett, Lloyd and Hinchcliffe!
Bartlett was the first owner in 104 years to get this club promoted to the Premier League. Lloyd lost a couple of million of pounds at least here when his idea of ground sharing with Fc didn't come off. It did a couple of years later when the council did it instead. The myth that he locked us out of our own stadium is often repeated when the truth is ignored. Lloyd ended up being our landlord and not the owner. Hinchcliffe and Buchanan had the ownership of the club and hadn't paid for it. If fact they didn't pay for anything and ripped the club off on a daily basis. Lloyd locked the gates to stop them getting their hands on anymore money and as a result a week or two later they were gone and Pearson took over.
The fans decided at Wembley. Getting booed as you raise the winners trophy. Yes, yes, petty to think of that as my abiding memory of their tenure, but for me, that is their legacy.
