I’ve no idea but we’ve certainly had our fair share of bent councillors den A mate of mine did john blacks patio
Apparently it's common sense, Den. Get a grip, man! On a similar vein, could I interest you in Christianity? I don't understand how the universe works, so it must be God. Common sense, innit.
Watched some of the live feed, Tan & Rodwell coming over well, Tan particularly, they want to bring the Academy back to around the stadium, contracts to be sorted after the season mission of staying up complete, anyone watching?
No doubt there will be some, but this theory makes no sense. People simply pay the council, through auditable payment methods, to have the pitch. The cash goes nowhere near councillors. It's almost like they don't understand how a council works, and what the councillors do and don't do. The earlier example of cash payments makes some sense, as the electrician is doing something useful. What is the useful thing a councillor would do for the money?
I wouldn't be surprised at all if personal threats are made. There may be an element of they daren't move it. I have no evidence in this case, but it is what happens with those communities. Anyway, I expected this thread would be full of interesting nuggets from last night's event. Any big reveals, anything new of interest? ........
Watching it now - livestream still available (give it a couple of minutes at the start as there's no sound until the event starts in practice) James Hoggarth unfortunately not very good at follow up questions. For example, a golden opportunity when Tan was openly talking about stadium & surrounds development. Just moved straight on to a question about another topic!!
I think if anyone has any evidence at all that the suggested malpractice is taking place, they should report it to the Police, the Council or to the media, as it's not just taking money from ratepayers, it's taking opportunities for the City to grow and is certainly anti-democratic. If nothing else, it could cause questions to be asked and make everyone aware that it is not acceptable.
Just a quick one, posted on Instagram by tan Kesler was present at their game which I think really shows how much himself and Acun have bought into the local area.
Well that in an hour and a half was more meaningful engagement between fans and club than in what? Previous 8 years?
The big gigs lost money. If they hadn't they'd still be happening. But, if the right promoter was involved then you might get a scenario a weekend in the year where the pitch is up and a niche festival of sorts might make money... If its something like Who, Elton, or someone like that irritating little ginger twat for a big 1 off then you need hotels.
I know it's been done to death, but this popped up on Twitter today. Our previous owners really did send us into a new PL season with a caretaker manager, a midfielder having to fill in at CB, a bench that bar Maloney were literally kids because we simply didn't have any other senior players!!. Even Phelan is closing his eyes at the sight of that bench ...... and we somehow still won the first match against the PL Champions!! #funnyoldgame , masking what a pair of ****s the Allams were (in relation to our club).
-> 'The Labour Party has lost control of Hull City Council for the first time in 11 years during the latest local elections with the Liberal Democrats taking power'. In terms of our club, good news, bad news, or not really much difference?
I can’t see it making any difference in terms of new ownership - under the Allams maybe. But the new team had a clean slate with the council
Rod Stewart made money, prob because the MKM fella who put it on gave the profits to charity, but gig prices are obscene, because they make nowt on record sales anymore, I was going to see Paul McCartney in Orlando later this month but the cheapest tickets are nearly £100 and you are sat in the gods and the sound was crap when I went there last.
