Did you know, that's actually a 'thorn' which is something roses don't actually have, and violets are not ****ing blue no matter what that poem says. Whoops, someone beat me too it.
Some people seemed to think they had..."Abraham Lincoln said, "We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses." In Oscar Wilde's famous work, "The Nightingale and the Rose," a nightingale pierces its breast on a rosethorn so the lover may have a red rose for his beloved." No doubt you will say there are no thorns sticking out of the actual rose flower. I always thought violets were violet personally (or myself).
They may have thought it, but they were wrong as has already been suggested. Roses have prickles, not thorns. No. because that would be being a bit of a "clever arse". This is FACT! "Thorns develop from shoot material, spines are modified leaf structures, and prickles form from the plant's epidermis and cortex (outermost layers)."
It looks as if Charlton has finally got a new owner, a Danish/USA businessman. They seem to have had 2 or 3 parties interested to buy the club, whereas we still cannot find anyone.
