Must say I've been fairly impressed with Salisu so far this season, but I did think he was guilty of ball watching for Newcastle's first yesterday.
Perhaps, but he's still young. As Tom says, he's strong and quick, plus most importantly he reads the game very well.
Of course the more that he plays the better he will get and could become that defensive leader we need. Newcastle scored their second goal because we were pushing for a winner but I don't mind that because we will win more points than we lose that way IMO.
Just watching MOTD, the difference in commentary between Newcastle’s late goal and ours is really funny He basically sounded disappointed about ours
Yeh, but apart from being young, quick, strong and reading the ball well what else has he got to offer?
My thoughts also ! Not sure who the bbc commentator for our game was but his whole attitude to Saints seemed distinctly low key whilst wetting himself regarding anything the Geordies did. And as you say the reaction to the two goals within a couple of minutes was so marked. Tosser !
Considering we were the better side for the whole game as well, I’d have expected a neutral commentator to be happy about the equaliser… very odd
I would have been annoyed if we were playing at home. But the Toon crowd were making a racket, so the commentator thought he was struggling to be heard. Still, he was perhaps enjoying the crowds being back a bit too much.
I've just received an e-mail from the club, entitled "Watch the highlights of Saturday's late drama", and, according to the banner headline, Newcastle won 2-0. I have pointed this out to the club, just to see if they check these things....
