No, that was a day out with Mrs FHB. Next time we'll take the train so I can have a pint. Shepherd Neame is a favourite beer of mine.
Absolutely gutted for the seventeen criminals deported back to Jamaica today. Not. It's about time we cleared out our prisons of all foreign filth, thus making room for homegrown scum. More simple solutions to follow.
Some simple advice for people not born here who would like to stay; Don't commit a serious crime. You know it makes sense. A) You don't ruin anybody's life B) You won't go to prison. C) You won't get deported. Pretty straightforward really. Anybody who commits a serious crime deserves everything that comes to them. If that includes deportation then tough. They should have thought about that before breaking the law. If I went to live in another country and was then dumb enough to do a serious crime, I would fully expect to be kicked out of that country. I can't see any credible argument against that course of action.
There was a woman on the TV news this evening moaning about how unfair it is on her and her kids that their father is about to be deported. Not one word of criticism for her husband, who created the whole situation because of the serious drugs related offences he was convicted of. He is the one who is about to ruin his family's life (again). Why should people like him be allowed to push drugs, then not expect to suffer consequences? And this spurious connection to the Windrush generation being put about by civil liberies groups is pathetic. Deporting these criminals has nothing whatsoever to do with Windrush. These of course are the same civil liberties groups who want convicted terrorists to be free to roam the streets and murder anybody they want to.
BBC online article; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51475379 New BP boss wants to reinvent the Oil Giant as an eco-friendly company. His name? Bernard Looney The biggest "eco-friendly" move BP ever made was ditching their 'shield' logo for the green & yellow flower motif. That fooled everybody
Two more powerful pieces of evidence that the world is going mad: Extinction Rebellion dig up a prized lawn at Trinity College, Cambridge to protest about climate change, and Our cabinet of Boris and his Nodding Dogs chant a series of palpable untruths about building 40 new hospitals, recruiting extra police and nurses, with happy smiling faces. All quite disorientating.
I'm all for extra police and nurses But do they really all need to have happy smiling faces? We could do with some extra teachers too. Preferably scowly, bad tempered ones. They used to scare me the most when I was a kid.
This one's a real charmer... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51538493 Does the Tory Party now have a secret 'Heinrich Himmler' award for radical thinking? This bloke must be on the short-list. "probably worth a dead kid once a year" tops anything even Boris has ever come out with.
Big Dom did advertise for "Oddballs and weirdos" to work as advisors at No.10, so no surprise that he gets them.
How Momentum likes things done... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-51561654 It's a good thing Corbyn didn't win the election (reason 1 of about 30 million)
I loathe Momentum, but it seems they weren't to blame in this case. Good old-fashioned misogeny appears to be the culprit.
A fair point - this was not by their hand. But this is the kind of thing they like. People being told how to think, and not to step out of line. Community block votes in effect, with free speech and boat rocking strictly forbidden. Class war, mob rule and an undercurrent of fear keeping folks, including wonen, in their place.
A question I have been wondering in the last few days; How is hanging a rainbow banner over an advertising hoarding a 'health & safety' violation?
When a Muslin carries out a mass shooting we are told that he is a terrorist and Muslims aren't to blame... when a far right extremist carries out a mass shooting we are told that this is the fault of the Far Right Parties.. wrong! he was a Far Right Terrorist perverted by an extreme ideology and a warped mind. PS... I do not support the policies of the Far Right but are they that much different from those of 'Extinction Rebellion' ? …. well the policies are obviously but the means of achieving them?
Extinction Rebellion have a policy? I thought they just enjoyed random acts of mass stupidity in order to spoil everybody's day.
Far right and far left have a lot in common. Corbyn and Trump supporters sound very similar to me. Taking idealism too far can make anyone do the most awful things, as history shows.
Civilisation in the UK has peaked, and is now in decline; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51619608 "If health has stopped improving, that means society has stopped improving." Prof. Sir Michael Marmot. Never a truer word was spoken.
