I'm no great admirer of the Royal Family, but this frenzied obsession with the woman's medical problems has been sickening.
The most extreme crap is on social media so I hear - one reason why I never go near any of those places.
Now she has been forced to make a painful statement just to protect her young children.

Sad social media creeps, just leave Catherine alone now and get yourselves a life.

Weasel words being taken to new levels on the LK show this morning.

Labour shadow minister saying the WASPI women "absolutely deserve respect" and that if she made an unfunded commitment to pay them compensation after a General election they would not believe her.

In other words an incoming Labour government will not give those women any compensation, and that refusing to commit now to something Labour will then back-track on later is showing the WASPI women 'respect'.

Spotting the difference between Labour & Conservative approaches to more and more current issues is becoming almost impossible.
No wonder millions of voters are sick to death of the both of them.

 

Labour have backed themselves into a corner. By revealing their financial plans to tax nondoms, and impose a windfall tax, they have allowed Hunt to take their ideas and use them to fund a cut in NI contributions, which Labour dare not oppose. It's hard when they are repeatedly asked How would you pay for it? but the delay in calling a GE is bad for everyone.

 

The Moscow bombers will probably be tortured into "confessing" that they were working for Ukraine.

The problem that "strong man" leaders have is that terrorist atrocities, or indeed military counter-strikes against them if they are at War, conflicts directly with the image they have sold to their people.

Before the Blitz began in 1940 the first Luftwaffe bomber to hit a civilian target did so by accident. They were supposed to be bombing an airfield or an armaments factory.
The RAF promptly retaliated by sending a squad of bombers over that night to attack Berlin.
Hitler was furious, but he was also humiliated - having told the German people, especially the Elite classes in the Capital city, that this kind of thing could never happen to them.
In many ways, that night was when the War 'really' began for German civilians.

Putin, and some others, have sold their own people similar lines.
I've heard that the US gave Russia an urgent warning about a possible attack of this nature.
But I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Russian Security agencies are nowhere near as well organised or able to multi-task as Putin wants them to be, or wants the rest of us to believe they are.

I believe in the right of protest - but absolutely not in a right to intimidate children.
There should be a 1 mile (not just 150 metres) protest exclusion zone around all schools.

Protests should only be allowed within that zone if they are not protests connected in any way to that school, and just happen to be passing by closer than 1 mile away for a time. And even those protests should not pass along roads that directly border the sites of schools.

 

Israeli settlers have got their eyes on moving in to Gaza. They believe that the land was given to them by God, and that you can't argue with God. The coastline in particular appeals to them. Who's going to stop them? THey don't listen to the US, who keep supplying them with arms, so once Gaza is completely flattened it seems likely they'll move in. Being "God's Chosen People" they can do no wrong in their own eyes.

 

Sadly the terrorism and killing of innocents will just go on and on.
I know many Israelis and Jewish folk around the World are heartbroken about what is happening. But they (like the rest of us) are powerless to stop it.
