Sunak is hanging on, hoping Starmer will lose it just once on live TV eith something the Tories can use ('I think the country should be run with Sharia law' or something similar that the Mail can use the word traitors to cover).
Ain't gonna happen. Stsrmer can't even be decisive about the water companies or the NHS so call an election now!!

What the Papers say # 2

    240404 Rishi.png

"Rishi Sunak could fight the Election on a promise to get us out of the European Court of Human Rights"
    The Sun

Yes, this is sure to be a big vote winner with the centre ground of the British Electorate, who will decide who governs the Country after the next General Election.

The millions of undecided voters who have fallen off Rishi's radar at the moment, because they are not among the couple of dozen ERG activists currently ringing him up and telling him they are going to quit the Conservative Party and join Reform UK.

Have a word with your attack dogs Mr Sunak.
Polls suggest your party may only have 99 MP's left in Parliament the day after the Election.
And make no mistake - headlines like this are not helping <doh>

Is now claiming he was coerced into giving the numbers of other MP's. Felt frightened.

He's a damned fool for putting himself in the position to be blackmailed, if that is indeed what happened.
Sending explicit pictures of himself. What a muppet.

Just over three weeks until the Local Elections, including the Election for the position of Mayor of London.

The Conservatives are claiming that Sadiq Khan will introduce Pay Per Mile for drivers to use London's roads if he is re-elected.
Khan flatly denies that he will do this.

This is an unusual admission for me, but on this occasion I believe what the Conservatives are claiming.
I think Sadiq Khan will introduce Pay Per Mile if he is elected for a third term.
Since his re-election is almost a certainty, we will know who is telling the truth and who is lying within a few years.

I see the Post Office scandal inquiry is starting up again today.
Sadly I feel it's a waste of time and money.
The roughly 1,000 ex-postmasters and their families deserve justice. But they won't get it.

Who was ever jailed over Aberfan, or Hillsborough, or Grenfell? Nobody.
Who was ever even prosecuted over Aberfan, or Hillsborough, or Grenfell? You guessed it... Nobody.
Who among the victims or their families ever received adequate compensation after Aberfan, Hillsborough or Grenfell? Nobody.

    See a pattern emerging?

Read Alan Bates' testimony, which he is giving atm. I feel the net is closing on those who deliberately perpetrated this miscarriage of justice. The victims may not get the compensation they are due, but there is a mountain of circumstantial evidence coming to light of criminal wrongdoing.

I really hope that evidence is acted upon to the fullest extent.

But history shows us that again and again the influential and the wealthy find ways to wriggle off the hook.
So far over this scandal, one person has had to hand back their OBE.

    Looks like IS attacks in Western Europe may be imminent;
With Ramadan nearly over this would be a typical time for them to strike.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-68769669

However, these published threats may well be deceptions.
These butchers rarely attack well defended targets or issue warnings beforehand that turn out to be valid.

Attacks may well come, similar to the deadly assault on that venue in Russia.
But they are more likely in my view to be against other, much 'softer' targets than Champion's League football matches.
Could be against some domestic football events, or practically any event where a large crowd gathers with no armed security presence.

    Stay alert everyone...

Fujitsu has somehow got away with much of the blame so far, I hope not for long, they were just as much to blame as the PO, if not more so.

    TESCO announces pre-tax profits up to almost three times on the previous year;

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68776913

From £882 million in 2022 to £2.3 billion last year.
Difficult to see how they can avoid claims that they're profiteering from the Cost of Living crisis.

Yet another "radical shake-up of healthcare" :emoticon-0112-wonde

Oh, there isn't a General Election coming up soon is there?
Rishi's looking very purposeful in his 'call me Dave' shirtsleeves there... :emoticon-0165-muscl

I see the Mail is quickest on the ball as ever with a 50 year old story about Harold Wilson's apparent infidelity.

And fake stamps is a Chinese Plot <doh>
It's a pity even the Royal Mail cannot tell a real stamp from a fake one.
They've been charging people £5 for letters with stamps on them that have been verified as 100% genuine.
Sounds like home grown clots rather than a Chinese plot.

Ever increasing enjoyment of kicking people when they are down is one hallmark of a Government lurching ever further towards the hard right.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68782418

Credit to those Conservative MP's who don't believe it is OK and are willing to stand up to the likes of Cruella Braverman and James 'not big or' Cleverly.
Poverty, inequality and homelessness all on the rise for years now, while every Home Office minister seeks to out-do their predecessor with Dickensian crackdowns on the nuisance of the smelly poor.
We're on our fourth Home Secretary in just over 18 months. One of them was sacked, re-appointed six days later and then sacked again. Utter mismanagement of one of the most vital Government departments.
No wonder this lot are looking at losing 200 seats in the next GE.

    A prime example of the "progress" Qatar has made since they were awarded the last World Cup Finals;

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-68758682

Imagine if that had happened at a British airport.
Dozens of female passengers unlawfully detained and intimately assaulted against their will.
There would have been a massive expression of outrage Worldwide.
I didn't even know this had happened until I read the BBC News article this morning.

Maybe, maybe not. Can anyone think of any aspect of British way of life that has actually improved since Dodgy Dave came into power?
