Do you honestly think it's a "Confict of interest" Rocket?

Serious question so don't get all coy.

If you do think it's a conflict of interest can you explain why exactly?

And do yo know what is a "Conflict of interest" in legal terms?

this is nonsensical - and for "widely known" read made up

having said that - im happy for any other firm to investigate it if rangers are going to keep greetin about it - there is either evidence or there isnt

As I said before, I'm absolutely certain that they'd find some reason for the next firm to be in "conflict of interest" too. None of this is based on logic - it's paranoia mixed in with a fair dollop of fear.

I remember at the time feeling a bit relieved that Shyte had manged to get his choice of administrator in. The alternative at the time was that HMRC appointed their own one. Oh for the gift of foresight:biggrin:

Why would we rejoice over our clubs being appointed an administrator though?

We are because it's just not right.

I hate using the term sporting integrity because we all know who invented it, or at least I hope we do, but where is the sporting integrity or any other type of integrity in Celtics' Lawyer's investigating Rangers ?

Never in a million years should this be allowed to happen !

I had a wee search for the threads around Feb/Mar for all that palaver but just had the best hindsight induced laugh I've had in a while. Pages 25 thru 27 on this board should do the trick.

Highlights included - Medro saying Craig Whyte was pretty much blameless and it was all Murray's fault (and refusing to believe he dodged PAYE and NI <laugh>)

    and...

the "Cousin has signed" thread <laugh>

So much **** has happened, there were funny bits throughout I'd totally forgotten about.

ok, I can go along with how rangers fans might percieve this - even if I dont necessarily agree - a bit like our concern over having guys like campbell ogilvie or gordon smith etc,etc in charge of scottish football.

On a professional level there shouldn't be a conflict of interest Dev. Because of all the **** that has surrounded this though they will have to be whiter than Whyte:smiley: There are wads of law firms though and I know they are meant to be one of the most prestigious, but in a way the appointment just feeds the paranoia. I agree with Rocket about the Donald Finlay thing in that there would be a proportion of the tic fans feeling the same way if the shoe was on the other foot. If what Murray says about the dual contracts is true it's a moot point and as is usual it's the legal parasites that are quids in again.:emoticon-0106-cryin

I wonder if the firm itself actually want the job? I wouldn't if I were them. Maybe Pope could do it? :emoticon-0105-wink:

I know you made light of Lawwell's daughter being employed by HM but it's yet another link.

We've also seen his testimonial on HM's website which they removed rather quickly when Rangers got hold of it. And then of course there's Martin Darroch the Celtic STH and CO at HM.

No legal firm with links to either half of the Old Firm should be part of this investigation.

That was about the only good thing that came out of all of this:smiley: McCulloch did far better than he ever would have.

Because Celtic are **** all to do with rangers guilt, or lack of guilt if it goes that way. You need to realise that. The investigation surrounds rangers and rangers alone.

There actually is no conflict of interest on a purely legal point so I don't see why the pre eminent sports legal firm in Scotland should not act for the SPL. If this is a conflict of interest then i'm pretty sure every half decent legal firm has done some work for the SPL The truth of the matter is that some Paranoiacs will see reds under the bed whoever is appointed.

Everyone will be seen to have some tenous link with the SPL and or Celtic.

So any firm which has done ANY work for Celtic should be ruled out?

Let the investigation surround Rangers and Rangers alone then.

Keep Celtics' Lawyer's to **** out of it and bring in a firm that hasn't jumped into bed with Lawwell and Celtic.

One team and one team only stand to gain if Rangers are found guilty and right now their Lawyer's are all over Rangers like a rash.

Stay the **** out of it Celtic, back off, and take your lawyer's with you.

    #sigh#

    They're not "Celtic's lawyers"

Celtic's main legal advisors are DLA Piper

then i guess noi glasgow firm can take the job - because you will find something somewhere no doubt

its just deflection - harper mcleod have no conflict of interest - but if it makes you happy then the spl should just appoint someone different

Which one of the above has Nicola Lawwell worked for ?

Which one of the above's CEO is a ST Holder at Parkhead ?
