As mentioned last week, there isn't a 'general' football thread for items that are of interest elsewhere so this can be for news that can be kept off QPR threads. This item looks like Burnley may well have been 'sold a pup' by their new owners, a similar scheme used by the Glazer's at United. It's OK when the club is successful but if not...
Surely the FA set some ground rules that ensure new owners abide by and don’t ruin a club. Club colours should not be allowed to be changed, etc. ( like Tan tried with Cardiff ) Hull owners tried a name change etc. New owners must invest a minimum dollar value within a specified time from purchasing etc.
They met the FA 'Fit & Proper' nonsense yet the oil rich Sheikh that wanted Newcastle didn't. The Bury owner Steve Dale, who's company track record as an asset-stripper is there for all to see passed it as well, so the FA seem to have no real use in protecting it's member clubs...
Yet another trigger happy Russian owner who thinks Bournemouth should be top 6. They don't know how lucky they were to keep Eddie Howe for so long and that Bournemouth's natural level has always been 3rd and 4th division.......
They should be comfortably top six. Even with the players they’ve lost it’s a very good side on paper playing woefully. It’s very Redknapp QPR.
Got you. In the chairman’s defence it was probably the wrong appointment entirely and they’re trying to avoid wasting this season entirely as it’ll only get harder to get back up. They lost an experienced coach to Newcastle too recently. It’s an attractive job.
How much longer can the same clubs keep taking the piss? It was reported that high earners at the club are only receiving part of their wages. The EFL really not on top of this at all...
Trindall was at Bournemouth for 22 years - there was a gap of 18 months when he and Howe went to Burnley. Think the Cherries have made a mistake. but then Im not a football chairman. Jonothan Woodgate has comein as a coach and there are suggestions that terry could be offered a job. I hope not...do not want scum on the osuth coast he can stay in birmingham. .I wouldnt be surprised to see them go for lampard.....
There were rumours about russian underhanded dealings when players were being acquired for Bournemouth on the way up. On the way down they couldn't keep their big players, especially after Howe went. Can see the Russian losing interest and Bournemouth plummeting
The press always referred to them as "plucky" Bournemouth in their promotion season.......there was nothing plucky about it as their Russian owner spent around £40m that season an they had huge losses for which they received a slap on the wrists for breaking FFP limits.......
Derby are also 7 months late with filing their 2019 accounts, the 2020 accounts are due to be filed by end of March this year. This is another tweet from Kieran Maguire on the same thread which sums it up rather nicely.....
It seems the government's support for non league which was supposed to be grants has now become loans which many clubs are unlikely to be able to repay. The FA suspended matches for two weeks as the situation was deemed serious and a just cause. Nothing has changed and as a result many teams are now refusing to play matches with no income effectively making it impossible to complete the season. As a result, that useless body the FA are threatening clubs who refuse to resume without finances to operate. What a bunch of sh*ts...
