    KIO's not606 Match Preview

After making 10 changes to his starting lineup for the midweek 2-0 EFL Cup win over Everton at Goodison Park, Norwich boss Alex Neil will recall a host of first team regulars for the visit of Burton Albion. Of those staking a real claim for inclusion in the starting eleven for City, Josh Murphy and a rejuvenated Steven Naismith were the stand out candidates against the Toffees.

Josh Murphy fires home City's second against Everton midweek

Both found themselves on the score sheet, Naismith’s finish to put the Canaries ahead in the first period although impressive was also a little fortunate as he slipped as he shot. However the same could not be said about Murphy’s winner as the young winger capped off a mazy run with a thunderbolt of an effort which cannoned off the underside of the crossbar into the net.
City’s summer signing Nelson Oliveira made an impressive debut up front but will probably only make the bench Saturday.

Brewers chief Nigel Clough was without eight of his first-team players at home against Brighton last weekend but will be buoyed by the news that Ben Turner and Chris O'Grady are available for the trip to East Anglia. Defender Turner returns from suspension while on-loan striker O'Grady had to sit out the 1-0 defeat as he was ineligible to play against his parent club.

Defender Ben Turner is set to return for the Brewers

Clough may be able to recall club captain John Mousinho and winger Lucas Akins who have had hamstring issues, Damien McCrory and Callum Reilly are recovering from ‘dead legs’, while Kyle McFadzean will miss out as he serves the final game of his three-match ban.

Victory for the Canaries today could see them climb to the pinnacle of the division should Huddersfield drop points at the Madejski Stadium against Reading. Although on paper it looks unlikely, Burton who currently occupy 17th place would in all probability move up to mid table if they are able to secure all the points at Carrow Road.

    Alex Neil's Match Preview

    Alex Neil previews today's game

"They've done great, [Burton] they've only lost one of their last six, they've scored in every league game so far apart from the one against Brighton, so it's not going to be an easy game.”

"We're going to have to win the battle first and foremost, because if you don't it's going to be a tough game.”

"Nigel knows how he wants his team to play, and their boys are buying into it. They're enjoying life in the Championship at the moment, but we've got our own agenda and want another three points."

"Our performance levels [against Everton] were excellent and that's something we're looking to build towards."

"There were games that we'd won but we weren't convincing really, against Wigan and Cardiff. The lasting effect was that we were hanging on at the end.”

"The Forest game was completely different, where we looked really fit and strong. Games, momentum and players getting minutes in their legs is really important."

    Nigel Clough gives his thoughts

"Norwich went to Everton in the EFL Cup and can make 10 changes something like that.”

"They have a very strong squad and they will say that’s what they need to stand a chance of getting back up.”

"I think they are trying to do it the best way by keeping the squad together so that if they do get back up they will be better the next time in the Premiership.”

    Burton Albion’s Ben Turner:

“Norwich has one of the best atmospheres and when they are playing well the place is banging.”

“Unfortunately for us we are playing one of the best teams in the league straight after playing one of the best teams (Brighton) – but that’s the Championship. No-one said it was going to be easy.”

Well done KIO, I hope you're right about 5-0 but so far nobody has beaten Burton by more than the odd goal!

    Terrific thread yet again! <cheers>

Excellent work KIO and a real shame you'll have to miss all the replays on the big screen. I'd love to see us score 3 or more goals, but it isn't going to be easy.
I'll be there cheering us on.

Likewise predicted the starting 11, as did all of us. Only Thompsons inclusion, and not Naismith, stopped my clean sweep.

BBC "EFL" feed (I really don't like that term) is pretty poor, I've switched to twitter. I guess, amazingly, some of our members do go to home games...

Listening to the great Chris Gorham on Radio Norfolk there is a strong suggestion that Brady is disinterested and Klose seems half asleep Too much time on the beach? AN continues to select Brady so he must feel he is on form. Would like to see Josh Murphy on with his brother
