And events have proved me correct. We've now had three opportunities to cement a place in the top six and prove our top six credentials, and failed to take any of them.
All the top 6 have struggled to accumulate points that many would expect in recent weeks. If those in the top six lack the credentials, whatever that means, who does ? At least our trend is upwards.
Just goes to show that maybe the most vocal fans are not representive of the majority. I seem to remember Wagner making this point in a roundabout way a few months ago. Maybe he has a better idea of how truefans view things, than the noise ones. Ignore the noise. Slow and steady wins the day, maybe.
Hull 1-1 Ipswich now. Both after defensive errors. Ipswich made a mess of working it out from the back and gifted a goal to Hull.
Absolute rubbish. You have been found out yet again . I guess Leeds, Southampton and West Bom fall into the same category, as their recent form has been far worse than ours ! We are deservedly in the top 6 and credit to Wagner for getting us there. Hopefully Ipswich will do us a favour tonight.
"highlighted how far off being genuine top six quality we currently are" We are 5th with 1 game left , how has that proven you to be correct ? Your arrogance & ability to never be wrong despite all of the evidence to the contrary Is astounding
Norwich City's qualification for the Championship play-offs has almost been secured after Hull City drew 3-3 with Ipswich Town. The Tigers' tie with City's bitter rivals means they would need an eight-goal swing on the final day to leapfrog them, and West Brom would need to avoid defeat to displace them in the top six. That means Norwich would have to lose to Birmingham and Hull would have to defeat final-day opponents Plymouth Argyle, with the combined winning margins for the games amounting to at least eight goals. That doesn't account for an absurd scoreline in the Hull-Argyle game, with David Wagner's side having scored nine more goals than their promotion rivals this season. West Brom would then have to draw or win when they face Preston North End at The Hawthorns to deny the Canaries. Fifth place, currently occupied by City, remains up for grabs, with the Baggies only a point behind in sixth. Norwich fans were left disappointed earlier today by a 2-2 draw with mid-table Swansea at Carrow Road. Head coach Wagner and star man Gabriel Sara pledged their commitment to making the play-offs by any means necessary post-match, but failing to do so is now extremely unlikely. If Wagner's men hold onto fifth their play-off campaign will begin at home against Southampton at 2:15pm on Sunday, May 12, with the second leg to be played at St.Mary's on Friday, May 17 at 8pm. Dropping to sixth would mean facing either Ipswich or Leeds United at Carrow Road on Sunday, May 12 at 12:30pm, with the return leg to take place on Thursday, May 16 at 8pm. Play-off qualification looked like being a mathematical certainty for Norwich when Omari Hutchinson put Ipswich ahead for the second time in the 68th minute, but Noah Ohio's late equaliser ensured the points were shared on Humberside. The Tractor Boys need four points from their final two games to ensure automatic promotion to the Premier League, with Leicester already promoted at the first time of asking.
Disappointing yes, but at least the performances and energy have been good That’s all we can really expect
