Cantwell and Gilmour come straight back in. I read this as an attempt to put right whatever has gone wrong behind the scenes in terms of the split between Farke and some of the players, and also perhaps a challenge to Cantwell and Gilmour - prove you deserve it.
Exactly, Gilmore is a decent player and losing him in January would be counter productive Tod won the handbag war with Farke and has been given redemption. Bit too many changes from the side that won last week especially with Handley coming straight in and Dowell being left out but no complaints from me .
Maybe, but Omobamidele has been impressive since coming on. But I do like the look of that team, look very attacking.
The Twitter account says he’s ill, so they obviously want to make it plain he would be in contention. Interesting to see Placheta on the bench.
For some reason that doesn't always turn into points , I got the feeling Gibson played better as the experienced head alongside the dynamic young kid as they finally got a winning formula.
To be honest, I don't know what I think about this (not that my opinion matters ). It does suggest to me that the spat between Cantwell and Farke was at least as much due to Farke as to Todd. The Greeks won't be happy. And if our self-funded plan which depends on buying players cheap, developing them, and selling them expensive is going to continue, we need to get Tzolis getting rave reviews at some point this season.
Is it safe to speculate that Tod's "personal problems " were his massive ego and dissapontment that he didn't get snapped up by one of the big boys on vulgar wages? I was told off for jumping to conclusions a while back.
Not unexpected return to team of Cantwell and Gilmour. Speaks volumes. For me, Lees-Melou instead of McClean. More attacking formation. Tzolis seems to have taken a back seat since his missed penalty.
Glad that the Premier League has gone back to KICKITOUT instead of the divisive BLM . Let's hope the FA does the right thing and boycotts the Qatar World Cup . Action not words .
Yes, but with some justification from all that we have seen at a distance. Personally I want to see Cantwell do well over the next few weeks to increase his sales value, but I'd like to see him sold in January. IMO he's an egotistic trouble-maker and he'll cause trouble again at some point in the future. If we can sell him for 25-30m, he can cause trouble somewhere else.
It may well be that McLean got the nod in part because he's got good experience of playing alongside Gilmour for Scotland. That familiarity will likely help Gilmour as well.
Recently it's been 1 or the other for Scotland and Kenny missed the Euros probably handing Billy his chance
