I wonder if it is an exaggeration to say that if we **** this one up, our last chance of silverware this season, ETH is history come the end of the season (he might well be in any event). Missing several key players with injury, and with several key players simply going missing during important games - it's a hard one to call.
According to the way the United site have named them Amrabat is plaing LB and Garnacho as Striker with Rashford in his happy position (LW) United: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Amrabat; Casemiro, McTominay; Antony, Fernandes (c), Garnacho; Rashford.
Yeh Amrabat will play LB like he did in his first game for us. Makes sense tbf with Lindelof and Varane as CBs As for Garnacho up front with Antony on the right.... remind me what Diallo has to do to get a game?
TBH i was surprised we let Pelistrie go out, he's got a lot to learn yet but is still more direct at RW than Antony.
Good first half that, very enjoyable. Sitter missed by McTom, and another decent effort well saved. Not too bad.
Ist half was good. But this half has been poor. Who exactly is playing up front. We seem to have switched to some false 9 nonsense.
Did anyone else notice Shearer's comment when Antony was substituted last night? Words to the effect of; tried hard, too one footed, was ok but not good enough for someone who cost so much. Like Antony put himself on the market for £80 million and so therefore has to be somehow two footed and an end product to justify his own fee. He wasn't worth that fee, but then he didn't choose that fee. That's on our scouting or whatever we had in place at that time. What we've got is a raw player with some talent and a great work rate, who should now be allowed to develop in this league without the price tag hanging round his neck. Not his fault he cost so much, it's an unfair narrative. Shearer is just a ****ing moron. He was better than Garnacho last night and worked a good deal harder than Rashford, both of whom stayed on. What he needs is a run, but doubt he'll ever get one with those two having cemented their places. Garnacho looks overplayed to me.
If Antony was a Brit, Shearer would've said everything you've just posted about him. His opinion is always based on that. If you listened to him talking about Rashford he gave him complete leeway throughout the match. None of it his fault.
