Now come on don't be a silly little bean trying to wind me up. You don't have the skills. No we made extremely hard work of fairly easy job, mainly due to negative approaches to games. However in the world of gargling Rafa's love juice, yeah it was a good job. In terms of the squad it really does depend what you want as a manager. If you want a side well prepared for that division, the squad which went down first time round was better equipped. We actually retained a lot of it. Enrique, Nolan, Carroll, Saylor, Barton, Guthrie, Jonas, Smith, Raylor etc were a good mix for that division. The second time round you have the opportunity to generate big money through the likes Sissoko, Gini, Janmaat, Townsend, Cabella etc. This allowed the manager to buy the championship provided he was competent and he was. Aston Villa tried to do exactly the same with an incompetent manager and failed. We also had a team littered with PL players in Mitrovic, Mbemba, Lascelles, Dummett, Clark, Shelvey, Ritchie, Gouffran, Perez - that's nearly a full PL team playing in the championship. Its insane to think automatic promotion wasn't easy granted a fair degree of competence in the manager.
Ah the old claim someone is wound up. Hell why don't you throw the line in "beeling" or "someones touchy". The funny thing is you've picked on the one thing I get slated for all year round on here please log in to view this image
Please, I haven't been round here long enough to know what "beeling" is Although you defo are beeling. The actual funny thing is I actually agree with you, Rafa was a superb manager who loved the club amd the fans and it's a shame Mikey chased him off to China.
Our football under Rafa in most games was absolutely dire. Embarrassing in a lot of games. A likeable bloke who bought a lot of ****e. He’s gone yet some folk can’t accept it.
I wouldn't say most games, we were largely dire against opponents who have significant financial advantages. I know some clubs have a go despite similar limitations, but with the playing staff we had during his tenure, I certainly don't blame him or question his managerial capabilities. The only people who seem to be hanging on to Rafa are the ones who seem keen to bash him for moving to China, rather than taking more crap here. I know things look weird as we have just spent some money (Not very much NET, but there we go), however we have lost our top 2 goalscorer from last season. I'd be unhappy as well. Bruce will not have us playing tikka takka, and fair play to him I say.
Was at that match, very long day ,we arrived in Newcastle at 7.30 that morning and flew out that night, still made Dublin before closing time!
It gets more desperate. You know its time to put away the keyboard when you get bested so badly you resort to mam jokes.
Hahaha you're still clueless as to what is happening here Too many prawn sandwiches in that corporate box has addled your brain
Anyway back on track. **** the boycott, I'm gonna see my first home game this weekend so anything less than a 4-0 Toon win will be a disaster. Obviously when we win and have a 100% record when I attend home games then I've made a rod for my own back!
What that this is one of multiple accounts (probably ACS or perhaps Bri)? I don't normally enjoy watching a floundering fish as its cruel, but for you I make an exception
