The Chairboys are on the road for the third time in a week heading north to Salop to take on the Shrews at the New Meadow who have had a poor start to the season but have picked up recently gaining eight points from there last five games, one more than ourselves. We have a good record against them winning 11 and drawing 13 and have lost only 4 times including a seven goal hammering at AP in which Grant Holt scored five. Gaz has a full squad available after Stewart's red card was rescinded and should make a few changes. I would like to see Mehmeti and Hanlan start. I won't be travelling to Salop, keeping my fuel safely in my tank; instead I will be watching the game on iFollow expecting the lads to put in a solid display and get back to winning ways
If we don't win this I will have to temper my high hopes for this season. A couple of early goals would be nice. COYB
I think Saturday proved in defence we are fine, it's the other end where we need to get things going, & take our chances that come our way.
Is our lack of goals due to lack of goal scoring talent, or lack of service to the strikers. Hopefully we aren't regularly pumping long balls into the box for the opposition defenders to clear. We need strikers who can turn defenders inside out, outpace them, and get the ball into the space for our strikers to run into. I am no Man C fan but I do believe that a lot can be learned from watching them. Watch the players who don't have the ball and you will see why their passing accuracy is so high (it was 95 or 97% against us). As opposed to many League 1 sides who can achieve high accuracy rates by passing the ball, ineffectively, around without creating any danger, Man C can do it in the box and create scoring opportunities almost at will. I would love to see that movement from our players. In fact I have a few times, but more often would be good and see us get more goals
What's the news on Tjay de Barr, Olly Pendlebury, Max Ram, Jack Wakely, Andree Burley Are they not good enough to make the bench or are they injured/unavailable?
HT 0-0 **** performance from Wycombe so far. This is not a promotion seeking performance by any stretch of the imagination. Very disappointing and not the sort of play that will attract fans. I paid €11 to watch this
Sunderland all over Chelteham and are 3 goals to the good. They look odds on for promotion. I'll check the odds
