official away fans championship stats....

as a city fan who prefers the away match atmosphere over that of the cooperian morgue of the circle, is there an official championship table of attendances for travelling fans. We must be up in the top 8? I reckon leeds must be top.anyone know?

i was thinking more in terms of the number of visiting fans per away game. I believe that clubs normally publish the number of opposition fans per game

Bizarre way of ranking anything. I would also like to see the table the OP is calling for. Sadly I don't think it exists, maybe one of us could email the Football League and see if they have the data?

Leeds top of the home attendances table and top of the away ground attendances table so it would be good to complete the hattrick and come top of the away fan table too. I'm sure Norwich, Hull and Forest will get good placings.

Will do. I'm sure the information does exist - I remember reading last year in some newspaper that Leeds and Wolves had the best away attendances in the Football League and that had exact figures for the averages so there must be someone keeping a tally at the FL.

 

Im sure they used to produce information on this as didnt away teams only get a split on the gate receipts proportionate to the amount of fans they brought but the rules have changed since to it being a set percentage. Im sure the hinchcliffe/buchanen regime got in trouble for alleged fiddling of away attendance figures.

 

Our average away attendance this year is 1,236.

Highest: 3,412 at Nottingham Forest

Lowest: 305 at Swansea City

 

Not in terms of numbers but Palace have been the best away support @ the kc this season

 

Just added up the away attendances from the back of the Palace programme. I'm not normally that sad but people wanted to know.

I'm the same as you though, I normally check teams websites to see if the away figures are on and almost every team's stopped including them.

God knows why!

 

Our total away attendance is approx. 27,000.

 

I'm sure in each team's match programme, on the list of fixtures and results for the season (usually inside the back cover or a couple of pages in from there) there is a figure for the overall attendance as well as the away attendance. I'm sure i've read it on ours this season.

 

Average of 1227, not bad

 

The average didn't include Brentford in the League Cup. With that the average would be just over 1,200
