Annoyingly Hamilton usually does the best on new tracks, so it's only got to be him :(

Going for Hamilton. He has such a psychological edge on Rosberg now and beats him every time in a fight on the track.

Sticking my neck out further, it's not impossible that Hamilton could win all the remaining races.

I think reliability, weather and being screwed over by Mercedes are the only ways he won't, he's got the beating of Rosberg on track.

Reliability is the big one really, you just can't tell with Merc at the moment. It would be awful if the championship hinged on it.

But barring that, when Hamilton is in the form he's been in for the last two or three races in he looks completely unstoppable.

I've gone for him in all the remaining races, which is his cue to have a breakdown and go and live in a cave with a rabbit bone in his beard.

Hamilton all the way now. Rosberg is dead in the water. I wonder if marussia put Rossi in the car for the rest of the season or just retire the car for this race.

If they turn up at all, which may not happen, my first thought was that Pic might drive for them again as a favour.

If Rosberg fails to win, then the Championship is done IMO. Hamilton would have such a psychological advantage, and a 17 point gap would be horrible for Nico to try and overcome.

I reckon Williams will be best of the rest, there's a few straights where they can put their natural slipperyness to good use.

Hoping for a Hamilton retirement, Ricciardo win and Rosberg finishing 4th, just to really add some drama over the next few races.

And on another note, apparently Russian customs laws mean that teams can only use what parts they bring with them from Japan, so i don't see Marussia being able to rebuild Bianchi's car for another driver, i think we'll only see 21 drivers this weekend.

    I agree.

Of course if something was to change with Bianchi (god forbid), i could see Marussia withdrawing both cars for a race or 2, but as it is i think Rossi will be the one to take his seat for the rest of the season, especially with the USA gp to come.

Rossi will get the seat IMO. Rosberg is down and out now. Lewis just needs reliability.

Everything seems to be in Hamiltons favour at the moment. Therefore using this season as a base point I predict a dominant Rosberg win and a Hamilton DNF <ok>

I don't think Marussia are entitled to any TV money if they fail to attend a race. Whether that means they have to run both cars or just one I don't know. If customs are awkward though it'll also depend on whether Marussia take a spare chassis to races or not. My understanding was that teams tended to, they just couldn't have a third car already built like in the late 90's.

Well this is my point. Bianchis car was a write off. Can a team like marussia get a new chassis plus themselves from Japan, build the car and also prepare a replacement driver before Friday morning? All this while on a huge low of morale.. a massive task.

I don't think a driver would be too difficult, Sauber replaced Perez with De La Rosa at short notice when he wasn't even contracted to them for example. Kovalainen could come back for a race, or there's no doubt others. Someone must have a superlicense and planned on being in Sochi without a race seat. The chassis will be the key issue, but it wouldn't surprise me if the teams rally round and cover whatever manpower Marussia leave with Bianchi in Japan. It's a very close-knit community in F1, and all the teams went out of their way to be helpful when Williams had that garage fire.
