.... a great team and then club captain for Saints and eventually a great manager. He has a great future. Clever, articulate, diplomatic and a good footballer.
I think I like it better when you're contentious! It's a pity for the lad that he has to displace one of our better players to get in, where Luke Shaw had a virtual shoo in at left back. BTW that is not an anti-Fox line. I like Danny Fox, but Luke is simply a better player. Trying to get Morgan's place is going to be tough, especially now that he seems to pick up less cards than he did. Jack Cork is a bit more vulnerable, but the two of them together have been awesome this season. However, I agree with every word. This guy has a good brain both on and off the pitch. I just hope we can keep him.
I see in one or two news reports that Ward-Prowse has been said to have had a 'pop' at his first team mates, because he isn't getting as much time on the pitch as he'd like. What purpose does that sort of distortion serve..? To sell newspapers..? If it does then the smart buyer buys once and then avoids that newspaper from then on. OK, it's only a footballer's comments, but that sort of rubbish attitude runs right through the British Press and they don't seem to be able to shake it off. Of the mainstream, I think there's The Guardian/Observer, The Independent and perhaps The Telegraph as examples of responsible reporting, and the rest are an absolute shambles. Yes, today they have decidedly annoyed me.
Agreed, I think he will become known across the Universe as JWP, and end up as legendary as JPR Williams was in rugby.
It's a good stat that he has had more premier league starts than anyone else in the u20 world cup team. Whys isn't luke shaw playing in this tournament was he pulled out by the club?
cheers for that. Love that the club didn't let him waste his time, he deserves to have a proper holiday.
He's been in Barbados with mates in the past week, rather than being helped through by the club's physios. Not that I blame him
I have heard Mauricio refer to JWP as Prowsie....sounds even funnier in the middle of a torrent of Spanish.
Well spotted there, SS. I read what he had to say, and it seemed to me he was just saying that he wanted to get on the pitch more. Isn't this what you'd hope for and expect from an ambitious young player? Would have been disappointing if he'd said anything else. The papers love to create a confrontation where there isn't one.
Godders is loading too much hype on the lad....can't run till you can walk. At the moment, he is a talented lad picked in his age group for his country. And the powers that be at Southampton seem to think highly of him,
This lads got one hell of an ego...He states he no longer the "Young pup" of the team, at 18 I think he's got his head screwed on backwards, genuine asshole. Continue your development, and work hard to deserve your place in the side, arrogant little fart. Give him a one-on-one with Li Tissier, he wont have much time for inflated ego's. Certainly wouldn't like to see him don a Liverpool shirt! Anyway, good luck for next season.
Never comes over as arrogant in interviews. He has confidence in his own ability which surely is a good thing. I find it quite endearing that he doesn't feel like a kid now he has attained the ancient age of 18.
All he was saying is that he is older than Luke and therefore no longer the new boy. I agree with Fran comes across as genuine and level headed.
