Following a conversation about Claus in a previous thread- it got me thinking. Which ONE player from the past do you think we need? Not who you would like, but who we need. For instance, I'd love Mendonca, but with BWP our goalscorer is sorted. To get the ball rolling (and trying my hardest to resist typing Parker), I will say Di Canio. Think in our season of finishing 7th he did a lot of donkey work, sacrificing his goals to drop deeper and play a vital role of linking the midfield to attack- which we completely lack now. We look so incoherent going forward.
Big Mig! Just kidding, would go for Richard Rufus, although Danny Murphy proabbly comes a close second
This question has been posed time and time again and each and every time my answer is the same... Sir Richard Rufus. Simply my all time favourite Charlton player... Our defensive troubles would be a thing of the past if a prime Richard Rufus were installed at the heart of our defence!
Richard Rufus - never a question of commitment Then there was that left back who kept on jumping out of the tunnel......
Johnny Robinson, or Browndog or Kins- heart on the sleeve, last ounce of sweat men. As a luxury possibly DiCanio had all of that plus flair. I think its Mark Kinsella to get us out of this division and push on in the championship...but only because I'm not prepared to say Parker.
