Indeed - test matches in the sub continent and here can be a bit one sided simply because the pitches are so varied and the home side are more used to the conditions. We just don't help ourselves by batting poorly often having to rely on the middle/lower order. And without James Anderson or some top spinners we won't be such a threat bowling wise. Of course if we played them here we'd probably win by an innings and 100 runs..
Cook blames the defeat on the 'inexperience' of the England batsmen. A lot of the Bangladesh wickets were taken by a 19-year-old!
I thought that he didn't have a say on the tour squad but the XI that takes the field is chosen by the coach and captain or is that how it used to be done?
It's been a cracking MLB World Series. No idea who will come out on top. Cubs or Indians. Either way it's been a very long time since either team were kings of the baseball world.
Andy Murray has become the world number 1 tennis player. He has been on a very good run of wins and has worked hard to achieve the ranking. Well done.
An unusual way of getting there though. Needing only to get to the final of the Paris Masters, he won his semi final against Milos Raonic by a walkover. Fair play to him though - he worked hard to get there...
I said pretty much the same to someone on twitter, the pressure is off now so he should win the final in style!
Excellent news for Andy Murray - fully deserved. And to Ireland in the rugby union - beating New Zealand for the first time ever!
And to Scotland for their performance in the RL 4 Nations against England. Well, for the first 30 minutes anyway - best forget the following 50...
Well done to Joe Root - excellent start to the Series. I just hope we don't suffer our usual collapse.
Going by the scoreline Scotland aren't playing too well at Wembley - but they are putting up a mighty performance against the Kiwis in the Rugby League Four Nations. Into the second half and only 6-4 down...
Tricky question that. Maybe they can take inspiration from the League team's near-success - and from Australia's loss in the Oceania Sevens Championships overnight.
Glorious Scottish defeat! Mind you even Murray has had a few of those. Good win for England - Eddie Jones really done a great job it seems. Funny what happens when you appoint a proven coach who isn't afraid to speak his mind or make changes - not just give a job to the boys.
They're good at that. Can't help thinking what might have been had Skelton not been sin-binned - that simply seemed to spur Australia on.
Normal service is resumed - a bit of a pasting for England at the hands of Australia in the RL 4 Nations. 18-36 flattered England a bit.
Had to smile at the sponsorship for the match officials in the Oz v NZ Four Nation final! SpecSavers, I kid you not! please log in to view this image
