Of course he'd know how to handle a star player. It would be as simple as do as your told etc, or sit in the stand if he was stroppy, otherwise protect him, as Fergie protected Giggsy himself. Why should he go to another club? What will another club show him that he already doesn't know/hasn't seen under Fergie etc? That said, I could see him bring in someone like that Rene Mulestein as a coach to give some experience.
Yep, if he had left the other staff alone he would have had a chance to grow into the job with great advisors/assistants. Can see why he brought his own in though, there is always the thought he would have got "Fergie wouldn't have done that" or "we don't train that way" or any myriad of we/Fergie doesn't.
I wouldn't. Rene was coaching some terrible stuff and the man's an idiot. Claimed he was responsible for Fergies later success when in fact, Rene brought us zombie passing. He was no Queiroz
And fair play Cardiff. Sticking around when your teams falling apart. Not like the fairweather chavs and Kloppers.
Queiroz would balance LVG well also. However, sadly the reality is one would end up killing the other.
Kidd didn't achieve a lot in '99. He left United at the start of the year and was replaced by Shteve.
If somehow we manage to get Pep I can see Giggs staying on as his No2 - if for no other reason than Pep will need at least one member of his coaching staff who knows the club. Beyond that, I can see Giggs staying put for a while until Chris Coleman goes and then I can see him take a crack at the Welsh national team. After that he may welll be ready for club management - whether that is us is quite another thing.
Is Tika taka football guaranteed to work in the ever so physical EPL? Getting Pep would be a dream given the current foundation at the club. United should go all out to get him.
You know, that's a valid point. No side playing this type of football has ever won the premier league. Arsenal were the first top try a variation on it and, since Wenger in a sweep reinvented football, they haven't even come close to winning. His title winning sides played anything but. We've never won playing it, City haven't and Chelsea haven't. I reckon Guardiola could adapt accordingly though, he has in Germany.
