I am just looking into starting a shaving subscription, this one looks one of the better ones but wanted to know if anyone uses it and if it is good? Thanks
A new craze for lazy people, you sign up and get your blades posted to you (monthly) but some offer things like shaving soaps and stuff.
Depends what type you want, the one I'm looking at is £24.95 per box which is posted every 6 weeks and comes with 10 new blades as well as shaving soap/cream and pre or post shave goods such as oils, balms, scrubs etc. and your first order you get a classic safety razor and brush. but there are other ones like Harry's or Dollar shave club
Mach3. Gillette Sensitive Gel. Nivea Sensitive Balm. Paul Smith After Splash. Leaves you with plenty of extra beer tokens, so you can be far more productIve in wasting you hard earned. It’s a shave, get a grip.
I'd say that the potential challenge with this is that safety razor/blade combinations rely on the angle that the blade sits within the razor. As the razor supplied with this subscription id "fixed" and the blades that you receive are different every time, you will get very inconsistent shaves (in terms of how aggressive the shave is etc). My advice would be (if you don't already use a safety razor) to buy a high quality adjustable razor and some quality Japanese blades and go from there. This could be a big waste of money.
Had a Mach3 for too long and need a change plus the box every 6 weeks is never the same so don't get into a rut of using the same old things, Plus I don't need beer tokens as I don't drink
Hi Thank you for the feed back, I did wonder about it been a fixed razor and take onboard what you have said, I was thinking of getting the first box and seeing how I went as can cancel at anytime, do you still think this is a waste?
Nah I don't need to come out, plus it should have said drink beer, I'm a single malt lover and I'm sure plenty on here do judge ;-)
I have a subscription to Oddballs but not for a shaver. Oddballs is basically £10 a month for a new pair of boxers and socks. % of the money goes to Testicular Cancer charities. Steve Harper is involved.
