Just uploaded loads of pictures from the Arsenal game. It includes some from Highbury which has now been converted into flats, but has kept the stands and pitch layout as its infrastructure. Have a look at the link below. http://bit.ly/nByihX
So what did you think of our stadium (ignore the atmosphere, I'd rather have shown you our atmosphere v Barcelona), the area and just London in general? Also well done for running us so close, bad form or not, it's good to see such skill in a promoted side.
The stadium was great and fans were very friendly. Very quiet as I think many were expecting a landslide and not to be run close. You could tell that there would be a great atmosphere on other occasions as there was some great passion, although a little disappointed in home volume. Sat in the home end and was made to feel very welcome. Thanks to all the home fans. Good luck forvthe rest of the season.
Thanks ynysforgan, for sharing those great pics with us, have to say that this was one stadium I wanted to go to, but maybe another time, the gunners must be proud of that stadium, always have a soft spot for Arsenal, as they have in my view the right philosophy, I'm sure they will come good this season, just need some cutting edge up front, bit like us!!..................... please log in to view this image
Good photos.I was sitting in the Clock End right next to the Swansea fans and we we had some good banter. Best of luck for the rest of the season
Thanks for the pictures Jack Glad you had an enjoyable day. Wish The Swans well for the rest of the year. See you later in the season.
Good pics. I'm likely to attend the away game, at the liberty (it's quite close to me), so we'll so what the atmosphere is like down at your place.
my eldest son (2 1/2 yrs at time) ran onto the pitch when we went on a tour 2 yrs ago was very funny the look on the guides face, got some great pics in dressing room directors box etc. we loved every minute of it
Just have to say that most websites list Arsenal as the best day out for away fans and I for one would have to agree. Firstly the fans were very friendly, not one bit of antagonism before during and after, in fact it's the only time I've ever been going home on the coach and not had two fingered salutes aimed at my direction. In fact it was thumbs up and friendly waving and I really hope we reciprocate when Arsenal visit the Liberty. The police and stewards were first class, best ever welcome anywhere and treated with respect. I had a few beers in the area set up opposite the away fans entrance mixing freely with the home fans even having a chat with a steward called George who must be the friendliest steward in the UK Facilities go with out saying as superb, even had padded seats, toilets were spotless and all the staff at the stadium very welcoming. All in all a big thumbs up for me !
have to agree. sat near the back in the home end behind the swans fans and the stadium and fans were great. some even clapping the swans when we did something good. noticed a sleeping copper in a van outside the ground and he even came back at me with something funny when i shouted at him "wake up". noticed other fans having a laugh and shaking hands with the cops and stewards. we deserved something from the game but the luck went with arsenal.
I have an observation... a question really. Is it recommended if you live in Wales or connected parts, to be called Jack?
Only when you live in the best part of Wales mate Here is a theory why we call ourselves jacks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swansea_Jack
