This is terrible news. He was one of the best and always up for a tough debate, he would never shy away from standing his ground. I hope he rests in peace and my thoughts are with his family.
Page just informed me , I'm absolutely in pieces. I know some of you will remember a couple of religion/philosophy threads we had going last year, it always ended up me and Dave against everyone else and we pm'd each other our private thoughts and prayers for each other [sorry to be mushy]. Sincere condolences to his wife and family and I dedicate our win last night to him - they did it for Dave .
He was definitely around to witness that. It's an even bigger shame that we didn't win the PL last season now.
Sometime death is very unkind.Would like to share this with you. Before Christmas eve, I was going home by train. Before took the train I checked my WhatsApp messages an read them all.The journey took only about 35 minutes, I got home and took out my phone and there were 49 messages from a particular number. I was surprised and scared because the friend with the number we are not that close. The owner of that number was dead, and his family went through his phone contacts and created a group called "Passing of.....". He was only 51. Be good to one another you do not know when the end will come.
Just had an email from Daves wife thanking everyone, Anne also thought the renaming of the music thread was a great idea and will let her son know.
Me and Dave got on well as the pms would suggest. On here it was all banter and him being the wrong uns religion and me being a fenian bastard. But we both always ended with we're both reds and thats the only thing that matters. Privately in pm's etc we were quite civil and friendly to each other. Farewell Dave
The last message I got off Dave was a thank you. That was a shock in itself as we never really saw eye to eye. RIP Dave. A stern Liverpool fan who never backed down but knew his stuff.
Shocking news. I had a few discussions with him about music. Can remember him telling me how much vinyl he had in his collection which explained his knowledge of music. His musical taste knew no boundaries, if he liked it that was it, it did not matter who the artist was. He will be sorely missed.
