Buendia was by far our best player and we have spent big by our standards trying to improve the quality in our squad. Since we were in the Premier League last time. We have 2 great keepers so I'm happy there Gianoulis is a better left back than Lewis and Byram . Gibson is an improvement on Godfrey it's too early to judge but our new midfielders have plenty of potential Sargent if he cost £10m is quite ambitious for us . We are a centre back and a holding Skipp clone away from giving it a good go . Weakening our side by losing Tod and Max could be suicide at this stage
I think DF will need to focus on improving us defensively after that. We have brought in a GK, CM and 2 attacking players with 2 more on their way. The priority now should be a CB, a DM and a FB if today's game isn't to be a portent of next season.
I'm still crossing my fingers that Skipp will be allowed to rejoin us . With the money we are reported to be throwing about a £10m bid would have been a good move
Can't see it happening. He's very well thought of at Spurs and last season with you guys confirmed it. You can have Winks though
Skipp was incredible last season played pretty much every game and didn't put a foot wrong. Waste of a talent unless he plays and gets minutes or he won't develop
He should be given a good run of games at the centre of our midfield. You can see that last season gave him a lot of confidence and the hope is that he can replicate that at Spurs.
Goals here if they haven't already been posted. Not sure I love that kit, and the defence didn't exactly cover themselves in glory either.
Gibson's take on that is Interesting: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/gibson-sure-ncfc-will-learn-from-newcastle-loss-8218392 The lack of match fitness caused by the covid problems is a concern, but the return of Handley will help.
Yeah watching those goals it looked like the formation and structure wasn’t to blame for any of them - plenty of men behind the ball. Instead it was very weak defending for the first and a failure to anticipate intelligent movement for the next two - in fact the final one was particularly poor as we had seven men behind the ball as they attacked and still let Gayle find some space in the six yard box.
This is slightly less painful to watch we had a few chances first half. Kamikaze defending reminiscent of our last few Premier league seasons .
If Hanley had been playing instead of Zimmerman , fairly sure we would not have conceded 3 . The latter has never fully recaptured his form after his injury last time we were in the premiership. A CB remains a top priority, as does a DM, and I am sure Farke and co have matters in hand. If not, could be a long old season !
It would be inexcusable to sell Buendia for £35m and spend it all on 3 attackers costing about £10m each and not bring in at least one quality centre back or replace Skipp. We still have a few weeks but I'm not seeing any rumours of defensive reinforcements. Seems to always be our blind spot
