Lichaj captain. Good choice. MH and JI as more attacking midfielders with KS in holding role. Good move. To be fair, the starting X1 looks pretty decent (top 10), BUT nowhere near enough strength in depth when a couple of injuries & suspensions inevitably come. Full back positions especially. 3 or 4 away from a good squad (...... all relative though of course)
Starting XI: Long (GK); Lichaj (C), de Wijs, Burke, Kingsley; Stewart, Irvine, Henriksen; Bowen, Grosicki, Eaves. Subs: Ingram, Milinkovic, Toral, Dicko, McKenzie, Tafazolli, Bowler, Fleming, Sheaf, Greaves, Lewis-Potter.
FT 2-2. Work to be done. IIRC Peterborough always had high scoring games, they used to give up on defending and just all out attack. Wonder if that will be the case here.
They would not play him if they had any bids. Terry has to look at all the players and pick his own captain. It has to be someone he can work with.
It's almost a universal convention, even a superstition. Whoever wins the toss, 95% of the time, they choose to kick towards the oppositions home supporters end ( "Kop" equivalent ). 2nd half, kicking towards your home end supporters allows them to "suck" the ball into the oppositions net. Same at the other end for the away team obviously.
Myself and Dennis came to the conclusion that it was compulsory that we kicked towards North stand first half and that they didn't bother with the toss anymore. It seemed really rare that we didn't.
