For those of you who give a toss about stats etc. Over the season we made a total of 2965 predictions, scoring a total of 1647 points, an average of .55 points per prediction. As Aski pointed out, we're crap at it. 247 correct scores were predicted (3 pts) 906 correct results were predicted (1 pt) That means 1812 predictions were totally wrong. A prediction of 1-2 for every game would've yielded 147 points. 0-1 would've given 145 points. Below is a table of the counts of all PL scores this past season... Yes, I know I'm a sad bastard
Even sadder 6 games per round at 3 pts per game (18) x 38 rounds = total 684 points. Yes we are crap but it was good fun
Only half of the 1-1 matches were actually picked by Gessa. FORZA LEEDS would've only got 90 points. Oh, that's more than he got
So it's safe to say that Sky Sports Soccer Six could quite easily sponsor this competition for us and offer a prize of £10 million for 6 correct scores in the same week, and it not cost them a single penny
So my 1-1 strategy was right all along....the only problem with it was Gessa selecting the wrong matches No wonder I'd given up on it around week 25 Congrats Aski
Thank you for sorting this out Gessa. I ended up in mid table obscurity after my strong start. We've sacked our Manager and we're looking for a top European coach to take us to the level we deserve. Aski said he was top for all but one week. I seem to remember doing a Carlisle (who remembers that) and being top for a week before collapsing like an old deck chair. Was I the only other front runner?
https://footballpink.net/our-greatest-season-when-carlisle-were-top-of-the-league/ I couldn't believe how long ago this was! Doesn't time just fly by?
Week 6 was the one where I dropped to third place, with you and Shaks joint top. Week 7 was joint top with Infidel. The other 36 weeks I was up there all alone, with no friends
