We currently have the second youngest squad in terms of average age of the Premier League squads (based on stats from Transfermarkt) - reflective the "Ashley Policy" I guess Good or bad thing - Discuss! 28.6 - West Brom 28.1 - Watford 28.1 - West Ham 27.7 - Burnley 27.6 - Leicester City 27.4 - Brighton 27.4 - Stoke City 27.3 - Swansea City 27.1 - Crystal Palace 27.0 - Arsenal 26.9 - Everton 26.5 - Manchester City 26.5 - Bournemouth 26.2 - Huddersfield 26.3 - Chelsea 26.2 - Southampton 25.9 - Manchester United 25.8 - Tottenham 25.7 - Newcastle United 25.1 - Liverpool
Considering the youngest 6 squads include Liverpool. Spuds, Man Utd and Chelsea I would say it is a good thing.
But if you want to be a bit more pessimistic the eight oldest teams from last season were the ones who finished in the bottom half but avoided relegation. If, as most people expect, we are going to be in a relegation fight, then we should get more experienced players. Having said that though, Sunderland must have had an average age of about 42 for the latter part of last season and it didn't do them a lot of good.
Think this was my view on it too - could do with a couple of more experienced heads in there to help out when/if we're up against it
Yep, aslong as you have experience in quality and not quantity it's fine, could probably do with another Experienced striker and GK necessary before the window closes which, to be fair, seems to be mostly what they're looking at
