I'd say the Palace, Southampton, Brighton is the bracket we would aim to be within. Relegation is possible, but unlikely with seasoned squads some youth and experienced. I mean we always seem to have to buy in youth because we can't afford £15 million players. As well as that good facilities off the pitch, so often this is forgotten and tit can drag the side down/ reduces who can sign for the club.
All those -- and more -- are relevant. I think Zogean's approach is the right one, argument by analogy. We certainly achieved the status of "an established top tier club" in the period from our first promotion under Saunders (1971) to our relegation in 1995 (despite dropping down to the second tier on three occasions in that time). But we equally certainly hadn't achieved that status after just two years in the top flight. Would anybody say that Leeds are now, once again, an established PL club?
Interestingly Brentford are looking to reopen their academy, they closed their tier 2 academy 7 years ago to save money and were relying on getting teenagers from Scandinavia but with better finances and Brexit rules limiting them to 3 continental teens a year they are going to reopen it.

A great opportunity for him, and I think he's from that area so he's close to his family. please log in to view this image
