The first of two matches for Town that will either confirm (win at least one) or put to bed (don’t win either) our auto promotion aspirations. Debuts for striker signings? I’m going 16-0.
Thinking back to this time last year there was similar uncertainty/despondency as to our hopes and aspirations. I'm keeping the faith and think we'll get back on track with a 2-1 win. COYB!!!
Well, unless we sign some strikers we’ve a weaker side than the second half of last season to compete in a league above.
14th Feb Bigal, nil nil draw away at Bristol Rovers. Fans giving the players dogs abuse at the end of the game. That was lowest point of that season. Anyway, I think a 1-2 win for us. I can't even get angry about yesterday.
I hope you're right gaffer but I don't think we have been close to our early season form for about 2 months!! Anyways .....I'm saying 1-2 defeat, nah **** that now!!!!!! Looks like Kieffer Moore has signed and the lad from Wimbledon. So I'm now going 1-3 Town, Moore, Chappers and Morsy
Imagine a fresh forward line from Sarminta, Gallagher, Hamadi, Rak Sakyi and Hutch, if 2 or 3 of those mentioned do come in! As you say, our form has dipped, and Chappers misses Hirst and Broady needs a break. And my mate Aluko, he of the the most sublime pass, can hang his boots up now. Just as this old gaffer has, and I am twice his age! Interesting few days ahead.
If we do get another striker in, other than Al hamadi, then I can see us winning but as it stands....
I take it, we are permitted to change our forecast before kick off? Waiting for the adjudicator to confirm!!
Preston have done what a lot of neutrals thought we'd do and drop down the table after a strong start. They've had erratic form and can't seem to string wins together anymore. Having said that, we've had one win in the last several odd games and I do wonder how much that Maidstone defeat will play on the our lads' minds. Can McKenna get us fired up after that to reverse the mini-slump or will our troubles in front of goal continue? I think this one finishes as a draw, 1-1.
Probably already back. 3 hr flight and on training ground Weds. Keen as mustard. Comes on for 15 mins. Makes immediate impression.
Think this could prove more straight forward than Maidstone. Preston will be less comfortable to have 11 men in the penalty area for us to break through. A relieving 2-0 win. 1 early goal, then a nail shredding 88 minutes until we score again in 90+
