Ok, so it must be musical - referring to the group called ''New Model Army'' (being a reference to Cromwell's army) - one of them has the family name Tomkins which was also the name of one of the original levellers. Am I getting close ?
Justin Sullivan changed his stage name to ''Slade the Leveller'' so that the dole office wouldn't know he was working - bit of googling was necessary for this

I do believe that Mark King, bassist for Level 42 (ergo, a Leveller) is a Watford fan. . . . I'll get me coat>> > >>>>
Yes Justin was at Peace Studies with me at Bradford Uni......... we used to meet up at all the Watford away games..Halifax, York, Barnsley etc....
Cheers Yorkie. Keeping to a musical theme and studies, and moving to Hertfordshire - which rock group first started when they were all students at Hatfield Polytechnic ?
Nope, sorry Yorkie. This band formed around 1970 (or thereabouts) - often thought of as being American (possibly because of their name), and with a female vocalist (also with not a very English sounding name).
Funnily enough we hung out with Dave Punshon all those years ago..and he was at Hackneys 70th last year..and did some great music.
