He's comfortably our best centre back. We had a mean defence last year, and I appreciate its a step up this year - but I was hoping us staying up would be built on that solidity.
Did very well when he first arrived, gone off a bit since Terry called him a black ****. ==================================================== Marriner takes QPR for first time since Fulham massacre Tue 20th Dec 2011 09:08 by Clive Whittingham Andre Marriner has his second QPR appointment of the season on Wednesday night as Sunderland come to W12. Hopefully QPR will fair better than they did in his first game. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footba...akes_qpr_for_first_time_since_fulham_massacre
Can see the mackems winning this one and staying up under MON. A vital one for Rangers this. If a newly promoted side does not get 25 points on the board by New year they tend to go down.
The way Bolton and Blackburn are playing 25 points will be enough in May, never mind the end of December
QPR are a funny team. One minute they look capabole of beating anyone and the next they look like they could be beaten by anyone. They very rarely look average. I think this game has the smell of a 1-1 draw about it, or even a 0-0, as both teams are struggling to find the net and lack an out and out striker. There will not be many goals thats for sure and a 1-0 either way wouldnt surprise either. The first goal will be crucial, as ever in the EPL, and the team that gets it will fancy their chances. Tight, not much goal action and a hard battle. Barton will get dogs abuse from the Sunderland fans for sure and he hasnt had that good a season. Watch the scouse twat turn it on tomorrow. Lol My prediction. 1-1 but I'd take the 1-0 thank you very much.
He'll be key, now how do we stop him playing? Not Colback...Vaughan/Gardner, does he bring back Catts?...For this job only.
Opta Stats: QPR v Sunderland Opta / Michael Lintorn / 20 December 2011 / Leave a Comment Free Bet QPR have been the least impressive of the promoted clubs thus far Lurking just above the relegation zone, QPR and Sunderland could both use a bit of festive cheer. I wouldn't play Cattermole against Barton, after our last few performances against Newcastle I'd get Catts well away from Barton as he's had the piss took out of him most games against him where Barton has ran the show.
I'm looking forward to this game, and feel that Sunderland will need an early goal if they are to win...Ha'way the lads...
O’Neill left to pick up the pieces after Bruce’s reign of terror – opposition focus Tue 20th Dec 2011 16:30 by Clive Whittingham Sunderland’s scatter fire approach to the transfer market has left them with an unbalanced team lacking attacking threat. Steve Bruce paid the price with his job, can Martin O’Neill clear up the mess he left behind? http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/fb_news.php?storyid=15270
Just hope DJ Campbell doesn't play, he always scores against us and we can't deal with his pace and movement.
Midweek, under the lights, full house, Taarabt back, beatable opposition. 0-1 defeat and everyone lambasting the players on here by about 10pm, probably.
LOL. I'll be there in the Ellerslie Road Stand with my 15 year old son. He has never seen us win live in the Premiership. Have some pity you Black Cats.
Question for the more mature Mackem. Any of you there at the game v QPR 4 days after the 73 cup final? Stan Bowles claims the Cup was on display on the side of the pitch, and from the kick off he wellied the ball at it and knocked it off it's perch. But I've heard elsewhere that though the Cup was hit it was by a central defender called Tony Hazell by mistake. Any long memories out there? Think the game finished with a win for QPR and a pitch invasion.... Urban legend, Stan BS or anything in it?
