    Preview;
    We haven't beaten Bristol City in our last five meetings, and this is a cup game, so my hopes are not high. That said, I was encouraged by what I saw on Saturday, we played some good football at times, and they were certainly happier with a draw than we were. I was very impressed with some of the movement and link-up-play and would like to see some players given more game time together to help them understand each other, and be able to work well together, particularly Eze and Chair.

    I suspect that we will learn a lot from the next two games, assuming that is, that Warburton experiments a bit with formation/selection/tactics on Tuesday night, knowing that he can then make necessary changes for Saturday, when we face City again in the league. I'd be interested to know if you think he should go all guns blazing in search of a cup run (it's when you win a few games in a cup competition and progress to the latter stages - I read about it once), or if he should treat Tuesday night as an opportunity to give some youngsters some experience, or some fringe players a chance to shine. I would love a cup run, but feel that with our squad we need to focus on the league and pick up as many points as we can when possible. Discuss...

    Enjoy those who are going and COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    The QPR v Bristol city conspiracy continues, we play them at home on Tuesday, when, of course, I'm half a mile from Ashton gate, then we play them in Bristol on Saturday, when I will have left Bristol, travelled home to London and by kick off, I'll be in Newbury, smack bang in the middle.

    Is anyone brave enough to predict the starting eleven for Tuesday's Cup match?

    I am expcecting many changes including:
    Kelly (for Lumley)
    Kane (for Rangel)
    Chair (for Scowen)
    Wallace (for Manning)?

    We probably will also rest some players such as Cameron and Hall, so Masterson, Leistener or Ball could be played.

    Upfront, we could see Pugh, Mlakar and even Shopido.

    So I am expecting some major changes with possibly some players breaking in to the main starting eleven on Saturday (Chair, Kane and Kelly?)

    I very much hope so. He's said a couple of times that he doesn't like losing matches, regardless of whether they're competitive or friendlies, so let's see if he's true to that. Pragmatism is all well and good, but if I was managing a team my philosophy would always be to put out the best possible XI from the selection of players available to me. Resting players and trying out fringe players are good practices, but that's why we have substitutions and the like. I don't like wholesale changes, particularly when you're perhaps on a decent run, as this interrupts momentum and defeats can damage confidence.

    Like you, I’m in Bristol this week, London on Saturday. I am heading up tomorrow afternoon though. Saturday is impossible, wife has plans for that day, even though it’s my birthday. Tbf she had hoped for a home fixture.

    Anyone having a pre game drink? Pub of choice?

    We now have quite a big and good squad, so it is a no-brainer (in my opinion) to let some of these players get a run out. It is also positive if the players are "fighting" for a place in the first team.

    Even with many changes, I think we could field a very different but also very competitive team.

    I am sure Mark Warburton will know what to do - although I have no real idea what it is. We will much the wiser tomorrow evening.
