Been a promising pre-season so far, and with one more game to go before the season proper starts, here is hoping Warburton can use this game to nail on decide who will be starting a week on Saturday against Millwall, whilst Leicester still have a friendly against Villarreal and the Community Shield final against Man City before their league season starts on the 14th vs Wolves. It always slightly upsets me that we went up via the playoffs in the 2014, the same year that Leicester were automatically promoted. They have gone on to win the Premiership and consistently finish in the top half of the table, and win the FA cup last year. We finished bottom of the league, and were relegated again in 2015. Just so disappointing. I'll add team news when/if it goes up, but wanted to give you all plenty time to tell me players who have played for both I have forgotten. COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!!
Why don’t you **** off and take your boring nonsense with you. Go and support Chelsea, that’s where most ****s are!
In February 1974 we drew 0-0 at home with Leicester. It was a great game, Shilton was simply amazing. Looking forward to this match.
Another one for Dave this time to remember......League Cup 4th Round 1966 en route to Wembley. 4-2 to the R's against 1st Division Leicester........ Below is from Bushman's archives on QPR Report....... https://qprreport.proboards.com/thread/27231/qprs-1966-league-triumph-leicester
I was right at the front behind the goal when Les Allen chipped that one over Gordon Banks, onto the bar and then back into the net off Banks..
I saw the late Frank Worthington in that clip. I remember him hitting a cracker from nearly halfway one time, think it was against Stoke, which made it even better to enjoy. Sorry for wandering off topic.
Probably stupidly, I’ll be going to this one expecting us to win. Although winning the next weekend is more important.
I suppose it'll depend a lot on what kind of side Leicester put out. I had a small interest on Rangers last week at 3/1, based on the likelihood of it being our first team against their second. Might do the same tomorrow.
Some weird symmetry happening today. Preparing to walk to the station with the boy, to take trains in opposite directions. He, a QPR fan, is going to Coventry with a mate who is a Leicester City fan (badge tattooed on his chest) to see Pete Doherty, a QPR fan, play in Coventry cathedral. I am coming to HQs with a mate who is a Leicester City fan (no ink) to watch QPR play Leicester City. Both are afternoon events but we are setting off earlyish to ensure that we have time to sample some beverages before the immersion in the experience. I am supposed to text him when goals are scored, because ‘for once I’ll be with someone who is actually interested’.
Will be a real challenge today I feel. It will be good to have Stefan in the middle today as a real ‘hoop. Same for Moses. The team is coming together. It’s nice to have a competitive pre-season friendly that the players can get up for. In the studio today working away but will be checking the progress… enjoy the game lads n lassies!
Whenever we play Leicester I think about Ishmael Miller. Ended up having a real journeyman career which is a shame. Thought he might become much more than he did.
Hope Stefan is fit enough to play some minutes today, so he has some match time under his belt before the season starts for real next Saturday.
Just checked the ticket availability for today and it looks like the ground is less than half full. Why?
Pre season friendly and lots probably nervous about COVID and/or nervous about getting told to self isolate and miss other things?
He was a bit of a unit but his major contribution to our Championship winning season sent HQ into raptures...
