Loftus Road is an all-seater football stadium in White City, London, England, which is home to Queens Park Rangers.

In 1981, it became the first stadium in British professional football to have an artificial pitch of Omniturf installed. This remained in use until 1988, after which a natural grass pitch was reintroduced.

Rugby union team London Wasps shared the ground with QPR between 1996 and 2002 and Premier League football club Fulham shared it from 2002 to 2004 while Craven Cottage was closed for reconstruction. AFC Wimbledon started the 2020-2021 season sharing the ground while they wait for their new stadium in Merton to be finished. Other users of the stadium have included the Jamaican and Australian national football teams. In 1985, Barry McGuigan defeated Eusebio Pedroza for the World Boxing Association featherweight championship at the stadium.

On 7 June 2019, the club gifted the naming rights to the stadium to The Kiyan Prince Foundation, a charity set up in honour of former QPR youth player Kiyan Prince, resulting in the stadium becoming known as the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

    FAMOUS PEOPLE FROM SHEPHERD'S BUSH

Ben De Pear was born on 5 December 1970 in Hammersmith to John Andrew de Pear and Susan Elizabeth Kerr de Pear. He grew up in Staines and several places around the world including Iran and went to middle school in Barbados.[1]

From 2000 to 2005, he was Sky's Africa Editor, but was also based for stints in Israel/Palestine, Pakistan, Afghanistan and was Sky's Producer in Baghdad for the fall of the city in April 2003. In 2004, he obtained the first sit down interview with President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.[2]

In March 2017, de Pear issued an apology after Channel 4 News wrongly identified the perpetrator of the 2017 Westminster attack. It emerged that the person the programme had named as responsible was in prison at the time of the attack.[3]

In January 2018, de Pear was criticised after he liked a tweet by Kathy Burke, which called both Boris Johnson and Toby Young "a ****".[4][5] A year later, he complained that Johnson wouldn't appear on his programme, claiming not to know the reason for the now Prime minister declining Channel 4 News requests.[6]

    MACS VIEW

The helter skelter of the Championship continues with a trip to London on Wednesday night, game is on teh Red Button for those Masochists who want to see it.
Interesting to note that the vast majority of our night games appear to be miles away Bournemouth and Reading both night jaunts
Following the sale of Eze for £18 million, Rangers have brought in the following for fees:-
Dickie, Dykes and Bonne as well as Adomah on a free and Willock from Benfica B

They have had a decent start to the season, they have a decent manager in Warburton useful at this level be a first for us this season as Rangers don't do the knee bending before games.
Have been the last four games would have been nice to go, tight ground with the worst seats ever in teh away end not put in for 6ft 15 stoners like me.
Given we are away we stand a better chance than on the deserted steps of Deepdale, team wise he will make changes will have to utilise the squad given the number of games coming up.

Preston North End make their second trip to the capital this season as they head down to face Mark Warburton’s Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday evening.

They will be looking for a similar result to their last trip to London – when they defeated Brentford – as they play at the Kiyan Prince Community Stadium, a game you can watch live on iFollow with Guy Clarke and Paul Sparrow.

At the weekend, our midweek hosts took a good point from a trip to face AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court, their third draw in a row, making their points total six for the season so far.

The two sides last met in the last game before lockdown, back in March, when the Hoops took the points at Deepdale – the last time either side played in front of a significant crowd.

    Team News
Manager Alex Neil must check on midfielder Ben Pearson, who hobbled through the closing stages of Sunday’s game with Cardiff and was being scanned before the trip to the capital.

Darnell Fisher and Louis Moult are the only other players who will definitely be absent from the game against Mark Warburton’s R’s at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

For the hosts, Lyndon Dykes should return, having been rested for the weekend’s game at Bournemouth due to his extensive games programme during the international break with Scotland.

    Match Officials
Premier League referee Kevin Friend takes charge of Wednesday night’s fixture, having so far this season visited Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Liverpool.

Last season he refereed PNE twice, the 1-1 home game with Leeds and the away game at West Bromwich Albion. His last trip to PR1 before the Leeds game was in December 2016, when he oversaw North End’s 3-2 home win over Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers, in front of the Sky TV cameras, when Daniel Johnson’s brace was key to the win.

Prior to that he was no stranger to east-west Lancashire derby matches – as the select group referee took charge of both of the 2015/16 season’s North End-Burnley games, at both Turf Moor and Deepdale.

He was also the official when Graham Alexander had a fairy tale ending to his career with his last-minute free kick against Charlton Athletic on the last day of the 2011/12 season.

This will be his 15th game refereeing North End in his 18th season on the professional lists, his first being way back in April 2006; a 2-0 home win over Wolves. This season he has refereed three games thus far, issuing 11 cautions and one red card. He will be assisted by Simon Beck and Edward Smart, whilst experienced official Craig Hicks will be the fourth official.

Preston North End earned their second win of the season as they beat Queens Park Rangers thanks to a penalty in each half.

Daniel Johnson calmly sent Seny Dieng the wrong way from the spot to give North End the lead midway through the first half after a foul on Scott Sinclair by Lee Wallace.

Wallace conceded a second penalty after the break, this time bringing down Emil Riis Jakobsen on his full debut, with Sinclair converting from 12 yards.

Albert Adomah hit the post for Rangers in stoppage time as Mark Warburton's side's winless run increased to five matches.

The victory saw Preston move up to 15th in the table, one place above QPR.
Rangers almost took a seventh-minute lead, but Declan Rudd did well to deny Bright Osayi-Samuel as the forward tried to round the keeper

But after that it was Preston who caught the eye, although there was a touch of controversy when the referee appeared to have given a free-kick for the first penalty before changing his mind and pointing to the spot.

Alex Neil's side had an appeal for another spot-kick turned down after half an hour when it appeared Jacobsen was pulled back in the box before Brad Potts had an effort saved by Dieng soon after.

The result means Preston's two wins have both come in west London, this victory adding to a 4-2 success at Brentford 17 days earlier.

Preston North End boss Alex Neil told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"It's difficult to pick one thing. I think the performance across the board was good.

"Clean sheets are really important. We haven't kept enough and we just needed a win. Defensively we've not actually been that bad.

"We need to get the balance better at home now. We've lacked a bit of creativity, but the fact is we can only win the next game. We've now won two of the last three."

QPR manager Mark Warburton told BBC Radio London:

"What was disappointing was the fact that we gave a really soft penalty away and didn't respond well to it.

"It looked like the wind was out of the sails and suddenly the shoulders dropped a little bit and we looked a very average team after that.

"We got to half-time and we questioned why we'd changed, why the body language was a bit negative. We gave another soft goal away - we let the ball bounce after 80 yards in the air, just head the ball and pick up the second ball and we didn't do it.

"Albert's through at the end there and hits the pos. If we came away one-all and go 'we were poor tonight for the large majority of the game but we got a point' - but we don't deserve it. We didn't do enough."
