When you are crossing a railway crossing why when you are over it there’s a pull in on the left hand side for lorries saying please telephone the signal box before crossing, surely you are already over by then. This is on most crossings over here. Just thought ide start with a daft one.
It's supposed to be because of the container. If its plastic, the salt can absorb some of the plastics constituents, especially if the salt is exposed to moisture. Also, table salt often has additives, like iodine or anti clumping agents, included which can have expiry periods on them.
All I can say, mate, is that while I was recovering from covid over the new year I had a lot of time to read... Bugger all else to do! So for the next few weeks I'll be lethal in a pub quiz!
I reckon because on the farm if you haven’t used them the bottom of the tin starts to rot out, is it on plastic tubs?
Basically because the poison can lose potency over time as the constituents degrade. It doesn't necessarily mean it's safe to swallow after the sell by date, it could still kill you and even if you don't die its going to be pretty unpleasant and can leave side effects.
