If, as it seems being advocated there's to be no relegation from the Premier League this season, what happens to the £140M (approx) in first year parachute payments that the Prem would have been committed to pay out to those 3 clubs? With no relegated clubs to support in the first year and given the current financial difficulties experienced at the bottom of the pile in football, should the money be distributed instead to support the lower league clubs for next season - or am I being a bit naive?
My answers: 1. Yes spread the love 2. Yes you are totally naive I shall not hold my breath waiting. Probably best to phone a friend first.
I reckon it will be kept to support the increased number of teams in the premiership.....assuming there is promotion....and of there's not, it will be needed to compensate teams that bring legal claims or it will be needed for lawyers.
The season WILL be completed. There will be 3 teams relegated & 3 promoted. This is not fanciful. It has to be if the sport is to retain any integrity and meaning. I am not listening to any more conspiracy theories.
I don't believe conspiracy theories either Nin. Not criticising your point of view, I just think people's lives are more important. I think the sport would gain more credence by cancelling the season and resetting for 2020/21.
Respect your view but IMO whilst safety comes first obviously, as in Germany today it shows it can be achieved. Cancelling the season in my view is avoidable.
Dalman agrees with you Nin. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar
Surely there will be a shortfall in the FA coffers for this season as Sky and BT haven't had a product to purchase. I can't see tv companies giving financial aid with their huge loss of advertising revenue so my guess is that the parachute payments will just have a gap year

Prem League to restart with 2 outstanding games on 17th June. That 2 games which should have been played before lockdown not outstanding in terms of quality. Full programme starts 19th/21st June. No mention of TV coverage or Championship yet.
