From his posts and comments about him he was clearly a great and very well respected man. I loved the little excerpts he posted about his dog Lia. He must have doted on that dog having rescued her from Romania. I think we could all do to be a little bit Filey. RIP Filey
To add to my further comments, although I never met him in person, but there again maybe we exchanged conversations on Bunkers Hill,South Stand or Kempton but like us all on here he was true City. We all share his love of City and it is part of our soul. The like of the Allams have no concept,I was going to say probaly but know they have no idea, of living and breathing City. We are ordinary people and it is part of our make up, would be nice for the club to send condolences anyway leave that to them. Stay safe at the moment, over here in Melbourne we are in proper lockdown, masks are mandatory. At my work as a psychiatric nurse I have to wear mask and face shield! So embrace Fileytiger positive views, these bastardsvwill be gone at some point and we will still be here. City forever
OMG...truly shocked. Didnt know Filey personally but he always appeared as though he would be a great and loyal friend RIP buddy.
So shocked to hear the sad news. In a miserable year for Tigers supporters I loved reading his positive weekly comments about his Scarborough team and the sweet dog Lia he had rescued from Romania. He was a dear man and I will miss him although I had never had the pleasure of meeting him. I hope that Lia finds a good home too. God bless you Filey. RIP my friend.
Lovely man, I remember posting on here regarding my mam who was a big city fan who also had the same cancer illness has Graeme- non hodgkins lymphoma straight away he contacted me, give me his fb name and we kept in contact, sadly my mum passed away with it just over two years ago but what a great fellow to talk to. Thought city going down was sad but this puts it in perspective. Keep looking Graeme one day we will beat the Allams and I'm sure there will be a smile on your face RIP my friend x
RIP Filey Tiger. I am another person who didn't know him personally but who enjoyed reading his knowlegeable posts.
The way he spoke on here I feel, in a way, that we all knew him personally. I’m still absolutely gutted.
So sad to read this. Been to Filey today to take our little dog for a run on his favourite beach, poor thing has just had a tumour removed but hasn't been a complete success - he's a Romanian rescue and looks like Lia's twin. Was telling the Mrs and my lad about Filey Seadog and Lia. Like Graeme we stopped going to the KCOM and started going to Scarborough when City ended concessions for my son. Been trying to meet up with him this / last season but never quite worked out. RIP Graeme, the world needs more people with your positivity
What terribly sad news, he was always so up beat and positive, eventhough he had this hanging over him. So sorry, because of this virus, I didn't make it back to join the trip up to see him in April. RIP Filey, and God bless you.
Very sad. Fortunate to have encountered scarbs at work several years ago. He'd come into Queens for an appointment and was picking up his meds. From the the bits and pieces he'd posted on here about his treatment it was easy to work out that this larger than life character holding court was scarbs, in his city parka, chatting up the ladies. I take some solace from the fact he made the most of the extra years his treatment gave him. Rest easy fella.
No one got there in April sadly as the game was cancelled, but he really appreciated your kind gesture of sending money for a round last year. He toasted you in Scarborough. And he was as positive as ever despite everything.
