I saw Peter Lorimer was trending on social media, and knew what the news would be however much I didn't want it to be true.
I don't know what it is when a former player dies. I still get all teary eyed. Listening to the tributes on Sky didn't help either. I met him in the Clayton hotel after the uddersfield game and I just shook his hand and thanked him for what he did for the club. My sons met him and his son in his pub as well. A gent and a legend. RIP
Rest in peace Peter and thank you for the memories as tears stream down my face. Thoughts with your family and the extended Leeds family at this sad time.
Hopefully the link works.... https://www.sundaypost.com/sport/peter-had-hardest-shot-in-football/ Reason I posted that, because it was my memory of him as a very young lad, the hardest shot in football. R.I.P big man
Can't imagine what would be going through the keepers mind when Lash runs up to take a penalty with one of those big heavy leather balls...
Some great players back then. I do wonder how many of todays players will be remembered in the same heart felt way.
Unfortunately it's a business now as much as anything, players are just like commodities being bought & sold, as it's all about money for players & agents these days sadly
Because of the above, loyalty imo no longer exists, but this is one of the many features i admire about Bielsa he is not here for the money if he was he would pack up & leave for a really big money club, he possesses such a rare trait these days, so refreshing to see, which no matter what happens next, he will be fondly remembered by Leeds fans for years to come.
Sad news. RIP Peter Lorimer. Never has the famous line "and we've had our ups and downs" been more prevalent than in this last 12 months.
Getting out of the way I would think. R.I.P. Peter. Been a very sad year for the club in what should have been one of the biggest celebratory seasons for a long time.
