Interesting article in The Times this morning on what his early coaches felt about Raheem, obviously on the back of his latest escapades. Lot of comment from Steve Gallen, who had him playing for the under 16s when he was 13, the under 18s when he was 14, and was trying to get him in the first team when he was 15. He turned down a move to Spurs to stay with us before Liverpool turned up. All universally say that he wasn't motivated by money at least at that stage, and they don't think he is now. And his mum really wanted him to stay in London. I hadn't realised that, at least at a young age, he was in special needs education - hopefully it worked and he caught up, but also hopefully he has somebody with his best interests at heart keeping an eye on him. The good news is we get 20% of any sell on fee, 22% if its abroad.
So what has Sterling done wrong then, apart from not sign a new contract? He is the best English player player I have seen in many years. Has he eaten too much rice, beans and chicken?
Sterling is only doing what many boys of his age do but getting pilloried for it. With a camera in virtually every hand he's an easy target and he just needs to learn to be a bit more selective where he 'party's'...
Racist? ! I expect he likes it more than chips when he come from West London. I certainly do and it what's I ate most of when I was there, but then my family then were from the Caribean.
GIVE IT A ****ING REST MATE , BLACK PEOPLE EAT CHICKEN AND RICE. STOP MAKING ISSUES WHEN THERE IS NOTHING THERE
Fair enough loveit and sorry Oslo. Just a bit tetchy today as have had some issues with the missus so not in the most charitable mood...
Don't worry. No apology needed. I just hope we can do the impossible almost, win our next 4 games, and build a decent PL team. Then maybe one day before he's thirty something Sterling may want to come home.
